Education Officer - Improvement, Learning & Wellbeing - Respectful Relationships

Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) comprises 38 Catholic schools with more than 20,000 students enrolled across the Illawarra, Macarthur, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands regions.
<p><strong>Location:</strong> Catholic Education Office, Wollongong</p><p>The Director of Schools invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for this 3 year full time position of Education Officer, Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing (ILW): Respectful Relationships. The opportunity for a secondment of a suitable candidate currently employed with the Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) is available.</p><p>The role will include the coordination of the Respectful Relationships, Child Safety and Human Sexuality Education (RRCSHSE) Framework across the Diocese. This entails the ongoing development and implementation of resources, whilst working in close collaboration with Catholic Education Office service areas to support schools at their point of readiness for the implementation of the RRCSHSE Framework. The role also requires supporting the coaching of school teams in the implementation of a Positive Behaviours for Learning (PB4L) approach. This work would build from the applicant’s strong foundation in understanding the ethos of a Catholic School. </p><p>The successful applicant will work closely with members of the ILW, and Catholic Life, Education and Mission (CLEM) service areas and others in developing, delivering, monitoring and evaluating professional learning formation and growth experiences for school staff, parents/carers and others. They will also work in partnership with the Learning (K-12) Team in embedding the framework into the K-12 curriculum .</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA</strong></p><ul><li>A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of a Catholic school within the broader evangelising mission of the Catholic Church.</li><li>Has highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills with a particular capacity to inspire staff, build teacher collective efficacy and bring about change that is inspired by the CEDoW strategic goals.</li><li>Capacity to design and deliver quality professional learning experiences to school and system staff, parents and students.</li><li>An understanding of the principles of a PB4L approach and the link to wellbeing and learning.</li><li>An understanding of NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs.</li><li>Demonstrated commitment to work in alignment with the Continuous Catholic School Improvement Framework.</li><li>Capacity to engage with an inquiry mindset and professionally partner with colleagues, parents and the wider school community.</li></ul><p><strong>DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA</strong></p><ul><li>Experience as a middle leader or above in a school setting.</li><li>Experience in implementing the principles of a PB4L approach, and/or similar behavioural / wellbeing frameworks.</li><li>Demonstrated understanding of Life to Full Framework for Respectful Relationships, Child Safety and Human Sexuality in a Catholic Context and the associated Model for Growth.</li><li>Experience within an educational setting in delivering PDHPE syllabus.</li><li>Accredited to Level D in accordance with the To Work, Teach and Lead Policy.</li></ul><p>The following GENERAL CAPABILITIES are applicable to the role:</p><ul><li>Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills</li><li>Well-developed oral and written communication skills.</li><li>A commitment to ongoing personal and professional learning formation and growth.</li><li>Competent Information and Communication Technology skills.</li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><ul><li>Accredited with NESA to teach in NSW</li><li>Minimum 5 years teaching experience.</li><li>Accredited to Level C in accordance with the To Work, Teach and Lead Policy, or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment within CEDoW.</li></ul><p><strong>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</strong></p><p>This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment at CEDoW.</p><p><strong>REMUNERATION & TOOLS OF TRADE</strong></p><p>Details of the remuneration package can be obtained by contacting Carly Konstandaras, Recruitment - People and Culture, Catholic Education in the Diocese of Wollongong on 02 4250 9528.</p><ul><li>A comprehensively insured and serviced vehicle is available while working in the role and will be supplied in accordance with CEDoW policy.</li><li>Salary packaging is available.</li><li>A mobile phone and laptop are provided as tools of trade.</li><li>The CEDoW provides additional, ex-gratia leave during the Christmas/New Year period, as well as additional leave provision in lieu of overtime.</li></ul><p><strong>POSITION APPLICATION</strong> </p><p>To confidentially discuss your application or to request further position information, contact Kerryn Barnett - Head of Wellbeing and Student Support on 0408 477 450 or via email: <a href="mailto:barnettk01@dow.catholic.edu.au">barnettk01@dow.catholic.edu.au</a>.</p><p>Applicants are to complete an online application and to briefly address the essential criteria (equivalent to 2-3 pages) and submit a short CV (2-3 pages).</p><p>To submit your application please select the 'Apply Now' button at the bottom of this advertisement.</p><p>The Catholic Education Office is an agency of the Catholic Church called to stewardship and service in support of the system of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong.
