Our motto is wisdom through faith and knowledge. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Playford College’s mission as a member of the Finance team  while engaging actively with the community through innovative communication strategies. Founded in 2017, Playford College is a Foundation-12 co-educational Islamic school with an enrolment of approximately 650 students.</p><p><strong>Finance Officer</strong></p><p><strong>12-month fixed term contract/Permanent Position</strong></p><p>This role supports finance, accounting and bookkeeping functions, ensuring high-quality financial management aligned with the College&#39;s mission and values. The Finance Officer collaborates across teams to maintain robust financial processes, compliance, and policies while ensuring efficient operations and accurate reporting.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Manage accounts receivable (debtors) by monitoring school fees, issuing invoices, and following up on outstanding payments.</li><li>Monitor outstanding debtors and provide reports to Business Manager as, and when, needed. </li><li>Send reminders to outstanding debtors and issue suitable notices as per the school’s policy.</li><li>Resolve discrepancies related to debtors and creditors.</li><li>Process accounts payable (creditors), ensuring timely payment of invoices and reconciliation of supplier accounts. Prepare and deposit weekly collections. </li><li>Perform bank reconciliations on a regular basis to ensure alignment between bank statements and internal records.</li><li>Reconcile other financial accounts as required, including petty cash, credit cards, and payroll accounts. Assist schools in developing and maintaining robust administration and finance processes, controls, and procedures.</li><li>Implement and ensure adherence to school and office policies in administration and finance.</li><li>Process month-end and year-end reporting, including audits, and Government reporting requirements.</li><li>Assist in preparing the school for audits and compiling end-of-year financial statements.</li><li>Support the school in completing Financial Questionnaires, Census requirements, and other Government obligations.</li><li>Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Provide support during budget preparation and financial audits.</li><li>Support payroll functions, including integrating payroll with financial software and ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.         </li></ul><p><strong>Education, Experience and Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Diploma or degree in accounting and/or finance related discipline. </li><li>Proven experience in financial management, reporting and compliance, preferably in an educational setting. </li><li>Experience with financial software and systems implementation. Strong analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with school staff and external stakeholders. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).</li><li>Ability to train and support staff effectively.
