This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Playford College mission while engaging actively with the community through innovative communication strategies. Founded in 2017, Playford College is a Foundation-12 co-educational Islamic school with an enrolment of approximately 650 students. </p><p><strong>Communication Officer: </strong></p><p><strong>12-month fixed term contract or permanent position</strong></p><p>This role supports an opportunity to further develop your soft and technical skills and to advance your career in marketing and communications, with the support and mentoring of a motivated and experienced team.</p><p><strong>Key responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Strategy Support:</strong> Collaborate with the leadership team to implement and facilitate the overall Marketing and Communications Strategy.</li><li><strong>Photography and Videography:</strong> Capture and assist with photo and video shoots, including smartphone photography for social media.</li><li><strong>Content Creation and Management: </strong>Develop and deliver the production of high quality and engaging content including articles, newsletters, social media posts, press releases and website updates, ensuring consistent branding and messaging.</li><li><strong>Event Management:</strong> Help to promote, organise and manage events such as Open Days, community gatherings, and school visits to generate engagement.</li><li><strong>Event Communication: </strong>Support event planning efforts by developing communications for events and manage media and public relations for the events.</li><li><strong>Publication Management:</strong> Manage all the College’s publications such as yearbooks, magazines, videos, social media posts and newsletters.</li><li><strong>Report and Analytics: </strong>Track and report on key metrics, using data to assess the effectiveness of communication efforts and continuously improve strategies.</li><li><strong>Supplier Liaison:</strong> Work with preferred suppliers to obtain quotes, track project progress, and ensure timely delivery of marketing materials.</li><li><strong>Promotional Material Production:</strong> Assist in creating advertisements and other promotional content as needed.</li><li><strong>Cross-team Support:</strong> Provide marketing and communication advice and tactical support to other teams as required.</li><li><strong>School Involvement:</strong> Actively participate in school life by attending key events and initiatives.</li><li><strong>Child Safety Compliance:</strong> Adhere to the College Child Safety Policy and undertake training to ensure compliance. </li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field is preferred.</li><li>Proven experience in developing and executing strategic communication plans</li><li>Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with an eye for detail.</li><li>Experience managing social media platforms, with knowledge of analytics and reporting tools.</li><li>Proficiency in digital marketing tools, content management systems and survey tools.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage diverse audiences.</li></ul><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><ul><li>The position supports the Executive Leadership in the provision of effective communication services for Playford College. </li><li>The Communications Officer is accountable to the school leadership. This position will collaborate with all staff and other members of the college community in such a manner as to support and empower the school activities in the pursuit of excellence in holistic education and faith development.</li><li>In this role you will be responsible for creating and managing impactful communications to engage our key stakeholders, students, parents, educators and the broader community.
