School Chaplain

St Kevin's PS is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, appropriately qualified professional who will support students through the provision of school based pastoral care/wellbeing programs, workshops and activities, under the leadership of the Wellbeing Leader/Leadership Team. The role will be a minimum of 0.27 FTE or 10.25 hours per week. Please see the position description and criteria below.
<p><strong><u>POSITION DESCRIPTION /REQUIREMENTS:</u></strong></p><p><i><strong>The successful candidate will:</strong></i></p><ul><li>work as a member of the school’s wellbeing team in the delivery of student wellbeing services</li><li>contribute to improving student engagement, connectedness and wellbeing</li><li>contribute to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment</li><li>operate within the school community and with external providers</li><li>support students and staff to create an environment which promotes the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development and wellbeing of all students</li><li>support students and staff to create an environment of cooperation and mutual respect, and promote an understanding of diversity within the range of cultures and relevant tradition</li><li>support the Catholic ethos of the school</li></ul><p><i>Please also refer to the attached role description for all school staff below.</i></p><p><i><strong>Minimum qualification requirements are either:</strong></i></p><ul><li>Certificate IV in Youth Work</li><li>Certificate IV in Pastoral Care</li><li>Certificate IV in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care</li></ul><p>Salary is in line with the Victorian Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 for an Education Support Worker, category ESB2, in the range of levels 1 - 6, aligned with the successful candidates qualifications and experience.</p><p><i><strong>Selection Criteria:</strong></i></p><ul><li>Ability/Experience in providing support to children and young people and their families to address social and emotional needs</li><li>Ability to provide pastoral care, advocacy and critical incident response to support children and young people, school staff and families</li><li>Ability/Experience in delivering wellbeing services within a multidisciplinary team</li><li>Ability to support schools and teachers to identify, develop and deliver educational, social and emotional programs to support children and young people who are vulnerable or at risk </li><li>Ability to liaise with community service organisations, government agencies, hospitals, specialist programs and other allied health professionals </li><li>Willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the school</li><li>Willingness to comply with state legislation and policies in relation to child protection matters,</li></ul><p><i><strong>Child Safety Information</strong></i></p><p><i>St Kevin’s Primary School is committed to child safety and is legally required to obtain the following information about a person whom it proposes to engage to perform child-connected work.
