The school was established in 1890 by the Sisters of Mercy. The first lay Principal was appointed in 1989. The enrolment of the college is 730 students.</p><p>The college aims to educate students to be strong Catholic women, ready and able to take an active role in society. It values the role of the individual (students, staff, parents) within the community, and attempts to encourage the understanding that rights must be balanced by responsibilities. It strives to meet the sentiments of the prophet Micah to &#39;act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with your God&#39;.</p><p><strong>Specific Criteria</strong></p><ul><li>Be a highly effective, skilled classroom practitioner committed to the ethos of the Catholic School</li><li>Have qualifications and experience in Teacher Librarianship within Secondary Education</li><li>A forward-thinker who will help create and execute a clear vision for library and information services to support learning into the future</li><li>Demonstrated experience collaborating with teachers to plan, teach and assess lessons to ensure effective integration of information literacy, research and literacy skills into curriculum areas</li><li>Highly developed ICT skills with an excellent understanding of digital resources used to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement beyond the classroom</li><li>Capacity to contribute to the College&#39;s Continuous Improvement Cycle and a proven committment to furthering student achievement</li><li>Familiarity with and experience of library procedures including cataloguing as well as knowledge of learning management systems with a focus on Destiny</li><li>Embed innovative pedagogical practices (including digital technology) as well as the ability to differentiate the curriculum to meet diverse student learning</li><li>Effectively manage and facilitate safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive student welfare practices</li><li>Have highly developed interpersonal, presentation and communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with staff, students, parents/carers and community members</li><li>Be willing to contribute to the broader extracurricular endeavours of school life as an active member of the College community</li></ul><p>Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4 year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese.</p><p><strong>About us, our Vision and our Towards 2025 Strategy</strong></p><p>Our Vision is to provide &#39;authentic, professional Catholic education, delivered with care and compassion&#39;.
