<p>Siena College was established in 1940 as an independent, Catholic school for girls in Years 7 to 12. Siena is a place where the diversity and unique gifts of the young women in our care are acknowledged and celebrated.</p><p>This Sport and Recreation Traineeship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience by supporting the College’s Physical Education and Cocurricular Sport programs. Reporting directly to the Director of Sport, the Trainee will play a vital role in assisting both the Head of Health and Physical Education and the Director of Sport. The Trainee will work across Years 7-11 Physical Education classes and various school programs, contribute to equipment maintenance and assist in a range of curriculum-based activities, making a meaningful contribution to the College’s sport and health programs.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong> The Trainee will support the Head of Health and Physical Education by maintaining the sports storeroom and equipment, ensuring that all items are in good condition and ready for use. Responsibilities also include washing team bibs, maintaining the circuit room, providing first aid as needed and attending meetings for Health and Physical Education. Under the direction of the Director of Sport, the Trainee will assist with the Cocurricular Sport program by coordinating bookings, handling equipment, liaising with staff, parents and students. They will manage tasks such as updating the College Intranet with current sports information, preparing sports bags, booking buses and hiring external umpires. Additionally, the Trainee will support the Director of Sport with coaching, data entry, engraving trophies, and assisting at after-school fixtures, carnivals, and events. The Trainee will also assist with Student Reception, the Health Centre Coordinator and perform general administrative tasks as required.</p><p>This Traineeship requires a commitment to College values, including participation in school events, masses and staff functions. The Trainee must demonstrate a duty of care for student wellbeing and adhere to Child Safe Standards.
