Instead, we are on a mission to provide holistic, personalised education and wellbeing support for young people seeking an alternative to the mainstream system.</p><p>Our PRACTICAL approach to learning sets us apart and we have a huge focus on vocational education and training.</p><p>We are looking for Trainers and Assessors to take our VET courses to the next level across Construction, Horticulture, Hospitality and Retail. You will be delivering high-quality vocational education and training that gives our students real-world insight into the skills they'll need in the workforce.</p><p>We want passionate, experienced people who are ready to roll up their sleeves to help our young people learn and thrive. Plus, you can focus on your strengths as a trainer, with administrative support on hand for all things documentation and compliance.</p><p><strong>Duties:</strong><br />● Program, plan, deliver and assess a Certificate II or III qualification to Years 11 and 12 students in a hands-on, fully equipped training environment that simulates a real work setting<br />● Gather evidence and complete administration to assist students in gaining their qualification (with the help of a skilled administration team!)<br />● Facilitate a weekly non-accredited ‘Try a Trade’ double period for Years 9 and 10 students to develop their technical skills and work-readiness<br />● Come up with well-structured and engaging activities, projects and training delivery methods that resonate with NG's student cohort<br />● Stay abreast of current and emerging industry trends to ensure our students access the most updated, relevant training possible<br />● Undertake workplace visits for Years 11 and 12 students completing their 35-hour Structured Work Placements</p><p><strong>What Our Ideal Candidates Look Like (Essential Criteria):</strong><br />● Qualification in Construction, Horticulture, Hospitality or Retail (or willingness to upgrade/obtain)<br />● TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to upgrade/obtain)<br />● Minimum of 3 years working in your respective industry<br />● Comprehensive knowledge and passion for your trade subject<br />● Strong commitment to quality training and assessing best practices<br />● A team player with a high level of flexibility and an adaptable, solutions-focused approach<br />● Genuine positive regard for and ability to build rapport with young people who have experienced barriers to engaging in school</p><p><strong>More about NG Central School:</strong></p><p>We are an accredited non-government, special assistance school for students in Years 9 - 12. We are co-educational and are not politically or religiously affiliated.</p><p>NG believes that every young person deserves a purposeful future, and that school should be a pathway to achieving this. But with more than a decade of supporting vulnerable students under our belts, we know that not everyone thrives in traditional, mainstream settings.</p><p>Our school offers a genuine alternative for young people who have complex academic, behavioural, neuro-developmental and/or welfare needs.
