This role plays a key role in developing a range of activities for dependants of Defence members and families to ease the impact of mobility and service-related parental absence.</p><p><strong>Benefits and Opportunities&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>A positive and collaborative workplace culture&nbsp;</li><li>24 weeks of paid parental leave (maternity/adoption)&nbsp;</li><li>Up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave (paternity/non-initial primary carer leave)&nbsp;</li><li>Support for professional development and study opportunities&nbsp;</li><li>Opportunities to transfer to other schools within the Archdiocese across ACT and NSW to support lifestyle choice&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Supporting and assisting students from Defence families to integrate into the school community.</li><li>Creating greater and ongoing awareness within the school community of the needs of young people from Defence families.</li><li>Working with individuals, groups, families, and stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate relevant programs.</li><li>Promoting the participation of young people from Defence families in school and community activities.</li><li>Provide advocacy and negotiation support for these young people, as required.</li><li>Providing Defence students and their families with information and appropriate referral to support services.</li><li>Developing resources and programs to support students from Defence families.</li><li>Proactively contributing to the school team, adhering to school policies and priorities.</li><li>Assisting with mandatory reporting.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP).</li><li>Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).</li></ul><p><strong>Other Eligibility Criteria&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible to apply for this position.&nbsp;</li><li>Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Application Process&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Applicants are required to submit a current resume and a cover letter that addresses the selection criteria as outlined in the Position Description.&nbsp;</p><p>This position involves working with children.
