Years 7 to 9 are based on the Padua Campus (Wanniassa) and Years 10 to 12 are based on the St Peter’s Campus (Isabella Plains). MacKillop College is part of the Catholic Education, Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn (CECG), which operates 56 Catholic Systemic Schools and nine Early Learning Centres across ACT and NSW.</p><p>The College has a wide range of talented teachers at various stages of their career and with different cultural and educational backgrounds. This position is critical in fostering an inclusive educational environment where every student has the potential to succeed. The successful applicant will work with their Inclusive Education Coordinator and a team of Classroom Support Assistants to provide support to classroom teachers in meeting diverse student needs across the College.</p><p>The successful applicant will bring the ability to:</p><ul><li>Facilitate and manage a safe and supportive learning environment</li><li>Apply pedagogical practices in the area of Inclusive Education to motivate and engage students to achieve their best</li><li>Differentiate instruction to challenge and extend students of diverse abilities</li><li>Build and maintain relationships of trust and respect with students</li><li>Analyse and reflect on student learning data to maximise learning growth for all students</li><li>Contribute to an inclusive environment for students and staff</li><li>Work collaboratively with colleagues as a member of team</li><li>Utilise strong literacy skills, particularly in written communication</li><li>Employ highly developed organisational skills and a commitment to ongoing professional learning</li></ul><p>The Inclusive Education teacher will teach in a curriculum area which reflects their expertise.</p><p><strong>Benefits and Opportunities </strong></p><ul><li>A positive and collaborative workplace culture </li><li>Extensive training in our high-quality professional learning program, Catalyst </li><li>Access to curriculum resources that support evidence-based, high-impact teaching practice </li><li>24 weeks of paid parental leave (maternity/adoption) </li><li>Up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave (paternity/non-initial primary carer leave) </li><li>Support for professional development and study opportunities </li><li>Opportunities to transfer to other schools within the Archdiocese across ACT and NSW to support lifestyle choice </li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Working in a collegial manner with the Coordinator, members of all faculty areas, and with whole staff, to ensure that the College Vision for inclusive education is implemented and practised;</li><li>Involvement in the development of educational policies of the College, especially as they relate to teaching areas and inclusive education;</li><li>Provision of guidance and support for Classroom Support Assistants in consultation with the Coordinator;</li><li>Provision of direct assistance to individual students;</li><li>Working with individual teachers, teams of teachers and faculties to guide and support inclusive practices in all classrooms;</li><li>Communication with parents and carers regarding students with inclusive needs;</li><li>Accountability to the Curriculum Coordinator for all aspects relating to the teaching role;</li><li>Supporting the Coordinator in the promotion of inclusive education;</li><li>Contribution to whole staff meetings, campus staff meetings, and other school activities including faculty meetings as negotiated;</li><li>Participation in other activities relating to the teaching and learning processes of the school, e.g. Parent-Teacher Evenings, Information Nights;</li><li>A willingness to be involved in co-curricular activities: e.g camps, retreats, and sport where negotiated;</li><li>Responsibility for all aspects of administrative duties that relate to teaching and pastoral duties e.g. keeping class rolls, accurate records, student reports, correspondence etc;</li><li>Promote and implement shared practices around literacy and numeracy across the curriculum;</li><li>Engage with and contribute to continuous professional learning at faculty and whole school level.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications </strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching.</li><li>Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) registrations.</li><li>Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) accreditation and NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation</li></ul><p><strong>Selection Criteria </strong></p><ol><li>Be an outstanding teacher of experience and initiative who can work effectively with the curriculum team, colleagues, students and families;</li><li>Demonstrate a deep knowledge of contemporary issues and practices in teaching from Years 7-12;</li><li>Contribute to the development of pedagogy and assessment practices across the curriculum;</li><li>As a classroom leader work effectively with colleagues to develop a vision and profile for Inclusive Education;</li><li>Support the College to build community with staff, students and their families;
