We are a vibrant community that values passionate and committed teachers who engage, challenge and grow their students in their Christian faith journey, personal development and academic study.</p><p>We are seeking a passionate, highly skilled English Teacher who is committed to delivering quality learning experiences for students that are engaging and meaningful; resulting in evident value added and results growth.</p><p><strong>Employee Benefits Program:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>EAP</strong> Mental Health & Wellbeing program</li><li>Work/Life balance</li><li>Staff fitness program</li><li>Leadership opportunity for suitable candidates</li><li>Additional employee member benefits</li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Deliver quality teaching and learning experiences for students that develop deep understanding through exploring the conceptual and general capabilities inherent in and across English</li><li>Build learning relationships through employing restorative practices</li><li>Display a commitment to continued professional growth through self-reflection and further learning</li><li>Have an understanding of reflective practice and constantly refine pedagogy for the delivery of quality teaching and learning</li><li>Have strong knowledge in Stage 4, 5 and 6 NSW NESA English Syllabi </li></ul><p><strong>Additional Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Deliver the English curriculum in a dynamic way in the classroom, using initiative in bringing fresh and creative ideas to the curriculum</li><li>Teaching Senior English, including up to Extension 1 (preferred but not mandated)</li><li>Show an expertise in explicit and scaffolded learning, to help in the development skills pertinent to the English KLA</li><li>Provide students with clear and fair assessment, including the provision of regular, meaningful feedback, in a timely manner.</li><li>Preparedness to engage with the English Department’s teaching and learning framework, including safe and supportive environment, explicit and intentioned instruction, deep understanding and assessment of and for learning.</li><li>Actively drive and be part of a reading culture amongst students and members of your faculty</li><li>A commitment to your own ongoing professional development and growth</li><li>Show initiative in the integration of ICT into the learning program</li><li>Uphold the Christian teachings of the College, encouraging students to serve others and explore Christ</li></ul><p><strong>Skills / Knowledge / Attributes</strong></p><ul><li>Experience teaching HSC English, including Extension 1 (preferred not essential)</li><li>Experience in marking HSC English is not essential but preferred</li><li>A comprehensive knowledge of relevant subject content</li><li>Work ethic reflecting a commitment to excellence in teaching and a passion for student learning</li><li>Proven ability to effectively engage students</li><li>Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with other teachers, and work as part of a team</li><li>Excellent organisation and planning skills; must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities within strict deadlines</li></ul><p>Applicants should submit a Cover Letter addressing the key aspects of the Job advertisement, CV outlining employment history and three referees </p><p>All applicants are to submit an application Via Seek.</p><p>We are excited to hear from you!</p>
