WORK HEALTH & SAFETY SUPPORT ONGOING POSITION 7.2 HOURS PER WEEK (TERM TIME ONLY)

<p>&nbsp;</p><p>St James Catholic College - Cygnet, part of Catholic Education Tasmania, is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Work Health &amp; Safety Support professional for an ongoing part-time position.</p><p><strong>Work Health &amp; Safety Support&nbsp;</strong><br><strong>7.2 Hours Per Week (.16 FTE)&nbsp;</strong><br><strong>Ongoing (Term Time Only – 40 weeks per year)</strong></p><p>The school is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced Work health and safety support officer who are able to demonstrate a commitment to the aims and philosophy of Catholic Education.</p><p>In this vital role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring a safe and secure environment for our learning community. Your primary responsibilities will include:</p><p>1. Actively contribute to developing the schools safety culture, WHS focus and legislative compliance.<br>2. Oversee, implement, and update the schools WHS policies and procedures with adherence to the school WHS annual plan.<br>3. Manage and schedule school staff training in areas of Work Health and Safety and maintain a current register.<br>4. Manage the completion of regular safety related audits, inspections and record keeping.<br>5. Conduct necessary investigations into incidents and provide effective support for the long- term control of any identified risks.<br>6. Manage and maintain the currency of the schools emergency plans as well as prepare and review scheduled drills.</p><p>To be eligible applicants require:</p><ul><li>Valid Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Tasmania)</li><li>National Police Check</li><li>High level interpersonal and organisational skills</li><li>A willingness to work in a team environment</li></ul><p>The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Work Health &amp; Safety, preferably with experience in an educational setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will interact with staff, students, and external authorities.
