<p><strong>Location:</strong> St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park</p><p>St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is located near the junction of the M5 and M7 motorways. It is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population exceeding 1550 students in 2025. The college is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site.&nbsp; As such, the College is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12). St Francis has just completed Stage 7 of Building Development and offers state-of-the-art learning &amp; specialist KLA facilities.</p><p>A permanent full time position commencing 31 January 2025. The role will have a particular focus on learning and aspects of staff and student enrichment.&nbsp;</p><p>The role of Middle Leader exists to support the principal in implementing the vision and mission of the school, to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students and assist the school leadership team in the conduct and organisation of the school.</p><p>ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA</p><p>The preferred applicant demonstrates the following criteria:</p><ul><li>Has a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.</li><li>Demonstrates a commitment to academic excellence and a sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy including the nature of assessment and differentiated learning.</li><li>Builds a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data.</li><li>Displays an ability to lead learning and foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment.</li><li>Has a comprehensive understanding of NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs.</li><li>Knowledge and understanding of requirements of all courses within the relevant KLA.</li></ul><p>The following GENERAL CAPABILITIES are applicable to the role:</p><ul><li>Well-developed interpersonal skills.</li><li>Well-developed oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.</li><li>Strong organisational skills.</li></ul><p>DESIRABLE CRITERIA</p><ul><li>Experience with staff accreditation requirements and an ability to support staff in their professional learning needs</li><li>Preferably the successful candidate will have had experience with student pastoral care needs and worked with various student leaders to support educational needs</li><li>Ability to use various library processes and software (e.g. SORA and Oliver) successfully and ability to support key Diocesan policies (such as the Learning Resource Management Policy)</li><li>Displays an ability for strategic thinking, lead learning and foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment.</li></ul><p>QUALIFICATIONS</p><ul><li>Appropriate teacher-librarian qualifications with an ability to teach in at least one&nbsp;KLA.</li><li>Level C Accreditation aligned in accordance with the ‘Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong’ policy or a commitment to gain within the first contractual period.</li><li>NESA Accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above.</li></ul><p>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</p><p>This role is classified as a child related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.</p><p>POSITION APPLICATION</p><p>Applicants are to complete an online application which asks to briefly address the essential criteria (equivalent to 2-3 pages) and submit a short CV (2-3 pages).</p><p>To submit your Application please select the 'Apply Now' button at the bottom of this advertisement.</p><p><strong>Closing date: 6 November 2024 at 9am</strong></p>
