Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) comprises 38 Catholic schools with more than 19,000 students enrolled across the Illawarra, Macarthur, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands regions.

<p><strong>Location:</strong> Catholic Education Office, Wollongong</p><p>The Director of Schools invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for this temporary full time position of Education Officer, Wellbeing and Student Support (K-12), commencing 20 January 2025 and concluding 27 January 2026.&nbsp; The option of a secondment for a current employee based in a CEDoW school is available.</p><p>The role is an integral part of the work of the Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing service area as part of the Wellbeing and Student Support team (WSS) K-12. This position has a focus on supporting students (7-12) with social, emotional, behavioural and wellbeing needs across the diocesan system of schools.&nbsp; The role will involve a high level of collaboration with families, relevant external agencies and various key stakeholders across CEDoW in support of individual case management and the implementation of Positive Behaviours for Learning (PB4L).&nbsp;</p><p>The successful applicant will also be required to work closely with members of the WSS team and ILW service area, in developing, delivering, monitoring and evaluating ongoing personal and professional learning formation and growth experiences for school staff and others.</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA:</strong></p><ul><li>A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of a Catholic school within the broader evangelising mission of the Catholic Church.</li><li>Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills with a particular capacity to inspire staff, build teacher collective efficacy and bring about change that is inspired by the CEDoW strategic goals.</li><li>Demonstrated commitment to work in alignment with the Continuous Catholic School Improvement Framework and engage with an inquiry mindset and professionally partner with colleagues, parents and the wider school community.</li><li>Capacity to work effectively as part of a dynamic, responsive team, seeking to provide high quality, differentiated and tailored support for schools.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience within an educational setting with an understanding of effectively supporting students with wellbeing, mental health, behavioural and safety issues.</li><li>Experience in developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating individual plans for students related to their social and emotional, and behavioural needs, preferably in a secondary school environment.</li></ul><p><strong>DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA:</strong></p><ul><li>Evidence of formal study in the areas of social and emotional and/or behavioural support for students.</li><li>Experience as a middle leader or above in a school or educational services setting.</li><li>Demonstrated understanding and/or experience in supporting the complex needs of students.</li><li>Demonstrated understanding of CEDoW Student Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Policy.</li><li>Experience in the implementation and maintenance of PB4L in a school setting.</li><li>Competencies including ability to: Interpret medical documentation and student’s eligibility for Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).</li></ul><p><strong>The following GENERAL CAPABILITIES are applicable to the role:</strong></p><ul><li>Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills</li><li>Well-developed oral and written communication skills.</li><li>A commitment to ongoing personal and professional learning formation and growth.</li><li>Competent Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills.</li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS &amp; EXPERIENCE</strong></p><ul><li>Accredited with NESA to teach in NSW</li><li>Minimum 10 years teaching experience.</li><li>Accredited to Level C in accordance with the Work, Teach and Lead Policy, or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment within CEDoW.</li></ul><p><strong>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK</strong></p><p>This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment at CEDoW.</p><p><strong>POSITION APPLICATION&nbsp;</strong></p><p>To confidentially discuss your application, please contact Katie Carroll - Acting Senior Professional Officer on 0418 620 219.</p><p>Applicants are asked to complete an online application and to briefly address the essential criteria (equivalent to 2-3 pages) and submit a short CV (2-3 pages).</p><p>To submit your application please select the 'Apply Now' button at the bottom of this advertisement.</p><p>The Catholic Education Office is an agency of the Catholic Church called to stewardship and service in support of the system of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong.
