We are seeking to employ an Assistant Chaplain to provide leadership and encouragement to develop and assist in the implementation of the College Ministry Plan with a pastoral focus in our Junior School.

We are guided by our vision – Growing and Nurturing Excellence in Learning, Wisdom and Service. </p><p>We are seeking to employ an Assistant Chaplain to provide leadership and encouragement to develop and assist in the implementation of the College Ministry Plan with a pastoral focus in our Junior School.</p><p>The right candidate will be able to gather, inspire, and engage others to connect with Christian education. She or he will be an active Christian who understands how to integrate faith and education in relevant and authentic ways within a Junior School context. The best candidate will work with the College Chaplaincy team, Christian Ministry interns, staff and students towards the improvement and innovation of the College Ministry Plan. The role includes a teaching load (up to 0.5) to be determined in consultation with the Deputy Principal, Head of Junior School.</p><p><strong>Key Selection Criteria </strong></p><p>the successful applicant for the above position must be able to provide evidence to support the following criteria:</p><ul><li>Strong personal Christian faith and be a regular and practising member of a Bible-based Christian Church. Demonstrated Christian character and commitment.</li><li>Supportive of the Christian ethos and independent nature of Thomas Hassall Anglican College within the context of the vision, mission and values of the Anglican Schools Corporation.</li><li>Demonstrate an ability to express faith openly and provide pastoral care support to staff, students and families whilst remaining sensitive to the religious and cultural beliefs of others. Have a clear understanding of the issues affecting young people.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).</li><li>Involvement in church ministries and/or broader mission activities.</li><li>Bible teaching experience with small and large groups with an ability to clearly explain Christian values and beliefs.</li><li>Proven ability to effectively teach Junior School students. </li><li>A willingness to collaborate and work in a team environment.</li><li>Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills, critical analysis and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to prioritise and work as part of a team.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Appropriate Primary teaching qualifications &amp; NESA accreditation.</li><li>Diploma of Theology minimum, with Bachelor of Theology or a Master of Divinity highly desirable (or a willingness to undertake further study).</li></ul><p><strong>Applications should include:</strong></p><ul><li>Cover application letter</li><li>Completion of Employment Application form available on the College website - This should include the names, addresses and phone numbers of three confidential referees.
