St Mary's College is seeking a teacher to join our fantastic team in 2025 working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing primary and secondary students. St Mary's College South Morang campus works in partnership with Marymede Catholic College.

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>To take responsibility for a core group of St Mary’s College students, including partaking in Parent Support Group (PSG) meetings, developing Personal Learning Plans (PLP) and ensuring adjustments and interventions are in place.</li><li>To provide explicit teaching to assigned students or classes following MACS Vision for Instruction practice and following the Victorian Curriculum and Expanded Core Curriculum for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students.</li><li>To identify and respond to the social and learning needs of deaf and hard of hearing students within inclusive education settings.</li><li>To liaise with families, allied professionals and partner school staff on student progress, engagement, assessment and reporting.</li><li>To work as part of a St Mary’s professional learning (PLC) team in striving to achieve positive student outcomes through data analysis and evidence-based practice.</li><li>To be subject to the same directions as apply to all the staff of the partner school as well as St Mary’s Principal.</li></ul><p><strong>Commitment to Child Safety</strong><br />The successful applicant will:<br />•    Be familiar with and comply with the school&#39;s child-safe policy and code of conduct, and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety. <br />•    Assist in the provision of a child-safe environment for students.</p><p><strong>Qualification and Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Professional qualifications in the education of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (or a willingness to undertake further study).</li><li>Registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.</li><li>Willingness to support and participate in the Faith activities of the school community.</li><li>Capacity to understand and implement Duty of Care and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.</li></ul><p><i>Teachers without qualifications to teach Deaf and Hard of Hearing students are able to access a fully funded scholarship through St Mary’s to complete an appropriate Master of Learning Intervention or Disabilities Studies. </i><br /> </p><p>St Mary’s College offers a generous remuneration package to employees.
