<p>Based in the inner north of Canberra, North Ainslie Primary School is a community of approximately 600 students. As an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, they actively teach the Primary Years Program to ensure students are equipped with global thinking skills and intercultural understanding. With strong programs in literacy and numeracy, there is a focus on inquiry learning to encourage students to challenge themselves. With an emphasis on differentiating the curriculum, the school works hard to meet the needs of each child. They promote growth in learning for all students and work collaboratively with families to achieve this outcome. Student welfare is based on positive relationships with students, behaviour management policy and restorative practices.</p><p>The North Ainslie Primary School community is welcomed into the school and classroom to benefit the learning of the students. The school has a culture of openness, caring and community mindedness. This community spirit is embodied by the way in which they work with the Board, Parents and Citizens Association and volunteer organisations from within the area.</p><p>The school has two preschool sites, one at North Ainslie Primary School and one in Hackett. Both preschool sites provide an outstanding foundation for learning with their play-based programs aligned to the Early Years Framework. Kindergarten to Year 6 classes build on this foundation with an excellent arts program offered alongside their inquiry-based learning. This includes visual arts, Year 5 and 6 bands and regular participation in the Northside Spectacular. The Healthy Eating Hub works with the canteen to provide opportunities to work in the vegetable gardens and learn about cooking and eating healthy food. Students also participate in French classes and have regular opportunities to take part in sporting events and clinics. The school has two Introductory Education Classes and a small group program which reflect the diverse and inclusive nature of the school.</p><p>We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community.
