This is an opportunity to experience life in a small very remote Aboriginal community where the local school requires a Multiple Year Level [MYL] junior primary teacher [Foundation to Year 2] starting 2025.

<p>Watiyawanu Kuula is located on the edge of the Western MacDonnell Ranges on freehold Aboriginal land 325klms West of Alice Springs and is in the community of Amunturrngu [Mt Liebig]. There are approximately 250 people with the majority identifying as Pintupi Luritja. NT remote school based conditions apply:<strong> Fully subsided housing, power, water </strong>and<strong> relocation</strong> <strong>within Australia</strong>.</p><p><i>The school runs a daily Indigenous Language and Culture program [ILC] that has 4 key strands: Vocabulary, Literacy, Cultural Knowledge and Ceremonies. During terms 2 and 3 [the cooler periods] the students, cultural knowledge holders and all school staff participate in six 3 day camps over the 20 weeks. The camps are held every 3 weeks starting week 2 in terms 2 and 3. </i></p><p>Selection Criteria:</p><p>Ability to plan and deliver teaching and learning programs to meet the needs and learning styles of students.</p><p>The ability to create a challenging learning environment for students and apply school based culturally appropriate behaviour management strategies.</p><p>Regularly assess students and maintain records as per NT DET policy</p><p>Establish and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships between the community, parents/carers, students and staff.</p><p> </p><p> </p>
