Not required to work in school holidays</li><li>salary packaging of up to $15,900 annually</li><li>up to 25% discount on school fees for parents of SCS students</li><li>ongoing training and development opportunities</li><li>discounts on gym classes and memberships, activewear, healthy meals, and wellbeing products</li><li>generous Employee Referral Program.</li></ul><p><br><strong>About You</strong></p><p>As a <strong>Literacy Intervention (0.5 permanent) &amp; Classroom Teacher (0.5 temporary)</strong>, you work to ensure every student reaches their full potential through high-quality, collaborative and engaging pedagogy. The Literacy Intervention role is a dynamic and impactful program designed to provide daily, intensive, small-group instruction that enhances the core literacy teaching in the classroom. The aim is to elevate the literacy achievement of Year 1 students who are not meeting grade-level expectations. <strong>This is a 0.5 FTE permanent position.</strong></p><p>In addition to the Literacy Intervention role, this position includes a <strong>temporary 0.5 FTE teaching component for 2025.</strong> The successful candidate will join the Year 1 teaching team, offering targeted support to diverse learners within the classroom.</p><p>The ideal applicant will demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a learning community, applying their pedagogical expertise to improve learning outcomes for all students.</p><p>To excel in this role, you will be able to:</p><ul><li>work with the Assistant Principal, Instructional Specialist and Diverse Learning team to determine students suitable based on the parameters of the program</li><li>follow a timetable for instruction/intervention</li><li>to utilise Fountas &amp; Pinnell Benchmark Assessment to locate reading levels to determine groupings and interventions</li><li>conduct and monitor intervention sessions</li><li>provide timely feedback to students, teachers and parents</li><li>provide continuing contact and monitoring of students who have completed the program.</li><li>create and implement engaging, rigorous planned learning experiences catering to the diverse needs of students</li><li>demonstrate sound knowledge in developing a K-6 Curriculum and the application of effective learning pedagogies</li><li>utilise formative and summative assessments to drive student progress</li><li>employ a data-informed approach to setting challenging learning objectives and providing constructive feedback</li><li>support the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students</li><li>demonstrate excellent classroom management skills focused on student well-being</li><li>integrate technology to enhance contemporary learning experiences.</li></ul><p>Responsibilities: The role will also include but is not limited to:</p><ul><li>direct teaching of groups of students and individual students</li><li>contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school</li><li>undertaking other classroom teaching-related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal</li><li>participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; Family masses and Liturgical celebrations</li><li>undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.</li></ul><p>You will have attained:</p><ul><li>a tertiary qualification in Education</li><li>eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)</li><li>Religious Education qualifications or the willingness to achieve them as per<a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/policies/accreditation-policy-to-work-teach-and-lead-in-sydney-catholic-schools"> <u>Accreditation Policy to Work, Teach, and Lead</u></a>.</li></ul><p><strong>Application Process</strong></p><p>Please click on the 'Apply' button and follow the steps to submit your application.
