<p>Do you have a passion for Special Assistance School Teaching and “doing school differently”?</p><p> </p><p>Are you motivated by assisting young people to re-engage with education to achieve success inside and outside of the classroom?</p><p> </p><p>Are you ready to lead and support a more flexible, engaging and dynamic approach to student learning?</p><p> </p><p>If so, we have the perfect role for you… The Salvation Army (TSA) Independent School (YOS Lawnton) is now seeking a <strong>permanent, full time, Principal</strong> in <strong>Brisbane, Queensland</strong> to oversee the two campuses Lawnton and Riverview. Both campuses work with approx. 90 students in total aged between 14 and 18 years in grades 10, 11 and 12, that have disengaged from mainstream education due to individual, relational or social factors, to help them re-commence their education. </p><p> </p><p>Reporting Directly to the GM Youth and with 3 direct reports including an Assistant Principal Teaching and Learning, Student Support Services Manager and Business Development Officer this role is crucial to the vision and mission of The Salvation Army.</p><p> </p><p>The Principal will develop and implement initiatives to increase capacity across the school focussing on the design and delivery of educational policies, student welfare procedures, parent support processes, admin support, staff development and improved student pathways and outcomes. This role will also include responsibility for dealing with State and Commonwealth regulatory bodies, school compliance, state and federal government legislation and state-based accreditation.</p><p> </p><p><strong>About You:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Education or similar</li><li>Postgraduate qualifications in Education or similar is preferred</li><li>Extensive relevant professional work experience</li><li>Experience in working with disengaged or vulnerable young people using trauma informed practice and a strength-based approach</li><li>Excellent knowledge of Independent School compliance</li><li>Demonstrated capacity to lead a multi-disciplinary team in education settings</li><li>Experience in implementing innovative and integrated educational frameworks</li><li>Experience in promoting high standards of excellence across schools</li><li>Previous experience managing school budgets and finances</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>About Us:</strong></p><ul><li>NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefit ($2,650)</li><li>Flexible / Hybrid working conditions including WFH</li><li>Health, fitness, financial, and lifestyle discounts and benefits</li><li>Paid parental leave - 12 weeks</li><li>Up to 8 weeks leave per year through our purchase leave scheme</li><li>Up to 5 days paid leave per year to ‘volunteer’ in a TSA program or activity</li><li>Employee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling service</li><li>An inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate, and professional team members</li><li>Positively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contribution </li></ul><p> </p><p>If you're excited by this unique opportunity, the above sounds like you, and you have a heart for working for an organisation that truly does transform lives, we would love to speak to you.
