We are looking for a Learning Support Officer with a great commitment to supporting and developing our students with diverse learning needs. The role is part time (5 days a week) from 8:30am to 3:15pm commencing Tuesday 28 January 2025.

<p>St Patrick&#39;s Primary School is a vibrant and dynamic Catholic school, 20 minutes from Melbourne&#39;s northern suburbs. It sits alongside Assumption College, our sister Marist school, and we work very closely with their staff and students alike.</p><p>We are looking for dynamic people who are suitably qualified and experienced within a primary school environment for an LSO role that will work collaboratively with other LSO staff, students, parents and teachers under the direction of the Learning Diversity Leader to meet the individual personal and learning needs of students with additional needs at the School.</p><p>Applicants should be able to demonstrate an understanding of, and experience working with, students with ASD (autism), ADHD, language disorders and physical, intellectual or emotional issues, as well as personal care needs for a child in a wheelchair, including use of a hoist for toileting.</p><p>St Patrick’s is a school committed to the safety, well-being and protection of all children in our care. A sound and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current &#39;Child Safe&#39; standards is required. A copy of the school’s Child Safe Policy and Child Safe Code of Conduct can be found on the school’s website.</p><p>Applicants must have the ability to create and maintain positive relationships with staff, students and families within the Catholic school and faith communities, demonstrating Catholic ethos, vision and values.</p><p>St Patrick’s highly values Family School Partnerships and Restorative Practice. Excellent behaviour management skills based on the Restorative Practice philosophy would be advantageous.</p><p>The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as team skills.</p><p>Special Requirements</p><p>Applicants are asked to demonstrate:</p><ul><li>Certificate IV in Education Support or Disability Support (desirable);</li><li>confidence in using ICT;</li><li>a commitment to engaging students and improving outcomes for those with additional needs.</li></ul><p>Note: <strong>Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. </strong>You must reside, and have the right to work, in Australia – overseas applicants will not be considered for this role.</p>
