DOSCEL is seeking a Senior Geospatial Planning Officer, passionate about strategic provision of planning and location of new and existing DOSCEL schools in order to give back to the community.
As the Senior Geospatial Planning Officer, you will contribute to the establishment of new schools by monitoring and providing timely advice to enrolment projections for all schools.

The rewarding nature of the work and the opportunities for both personal and professional growth will ensure that you remain stimulated and engaged in your role.</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>DOSCEL is seeking a Senior Geospatial Planning Officer who is passionate about the strategic provision of planning and location of new and existing DOSCEL schools in order to give back to the community.</p><p>As the Senior Geospatial Planning Officer, you will contribute to the establishment of new schools by monitoring and providing timely advice to enrolment projections for all schools.</p><p><strong>About You</strong><br />As the Senior Geospatial Planning Officer, you will demonstrate the key selection criteria outlined in the Position Description, including but not limited to:</p><ul><li>A commitment to the ethos, values and mission of Catholic education.</li><li>A commitment to and understanding of child protection and child safety issues in schools. </li><li>Demonstrated successful experience in school provision planning at a strategic level and/or projects and knowledge of population trends and residential development across Greater Melbourne and Victoria.</li><li>Demonstrated successful experience and proficiency in the use and analysis of demographic statistics and Global Information Systems (GIS), such as QGIS, in strategic planning, including interfaces with databases.</li><li>Advanced interpersonal communication skills together with excellent formal presentation skills with the ability to communicate at all levels across the Diocese, DOSCEL, Victorian Catholic Education Authority (<strong>VCEA</strong>), with school advisory committees, principals and government agencies.</li><li>Aptitude for analysing, assessing and resolving problems.</li><li>Capacity to make decisions concerning the integrity and inclusion of data.</li><li>Competence to write reports with a high level of understanding of the relevant data and situations and presenting analysis succinctly and persuasively.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of the Victorian planning system and provisions related to the development industry with a particular emphasis on school delivery.</li><li>Ability to plan, coordinate and organise work to meet appropriate deadlines and flexibility to work independently or operate in a team environment appropriate to requirements.</li></ul><p><strong>How to Apply</strong><br />For further information regarding this exciting opportunity, please forward your queries to Industrial Relations/Human Resources via email <a href="mailto:hr@doscel.catholic.edu.au" rel="nofollow">hr@doscel.catholic.edu.au</a></p><p>Applications are to be emailed to <a href="mailto:hr@doscel.catholic.edu.au" rel="nofollow">hr@doscel.catholic.edu.au</a> and include a Cover Letter addressing the key selection criteria and current resume.</p><p><strong>Applications close on Monday 21 October 2024 at 4.00 pm.</strong></p><p><i>DOSCEL is an equal opportunity employer.
