This is a permanent position, with the flexibility to work part-time or full-time. The successful candidate will commence in Term 1 2025.<br /><br />Suitably experienced and qualified applicants<strong> </strong>are invited to apply for this permanent Junior School Psychologist position, (working with Pre K-Year 6 students) commencing Term 1 2025.</p><p><br /><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide individual services to Junior School students, promoting their emotional, social, and mental wellbeing.</li><li>Conduct assessments to identify students&#39; psychological needs and support the development of individual learning and wellbeing plans.</li><li>Collaborate with teachers, parents, and the Wellbeing Team to provide holistic support for students.</li><li>Offer evidence-based advice and best practice strategies to staff on how to support students&#39; emotional and behavioural development within the classroom setting.</li><li>Facilitate workshops and professional development sessions for staff and parents on student wellbeing, mental health, and resilience.<br /> </li></ul><p><strong>As our Junior School Psychologist, you will:</strong></p><ul><li>Have knowledge of the principles of Positive Psychology embedded in school contexts.</li><li>Demonstrate a passion for collaborative working as a member of a high-functioning team, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.</li><li>Be energetic, enthusiastic, and demonstrate a willingness to grow through the sharing of best practice and professional experience.</li><li>Join and attend meetings/activities of the Wellbeing Team.</li><li>Conduct Parent Education courses when demand exists and time permits.</li><li>Support Radford’s strategic priorities and goals, upholding Radford’s values of Truth, Compassion, and Wisdom.</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Essential Criteria:</strong></p><ul><li>A relevant degree in Psychology, along with registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).</li><li>Experience working in an educational setting with young children, preferably within a Junior School environment.</li><li>Strong understanding of child development, learning difficulties, and mental health conditions affecting school-aged children.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.</li><li>A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.<br /> </li></ul><p><strong>Desirable Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist would be highly regarded. </li><li>Be a Board-approved supervisor or willingness to undertake the appropriate training, would be highly regarded<br /> </li></ul><p><strong>Working at Radford College</strong></p><p>At Radford, we believe that the key to higher performing students is the effectiveness of their teachers, and that the key to effective teachers is the support they receive which enables them to perform their roles.
