Frensham is seeking a full-time Science Teacher (Biology), commencing Term 1 2025. This position would suit an experienced teacher or new graduate who has delivered or has the ability to deliver Stage 6 Biology and teach junior science.

They are taught to value kindness, resilience, empathy and compassion, and to carry these attributes with them for life, alongside the School’s core values.</p><p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p><p>Led by our Head of Science, the faculty works collaboratively to deliver quality teaching and learning experiences that develop students as problem solvers and flexible thinkers. Frensham offers three HSC Science subjects: Physics, Biology and Chemistry. Many of the students choosing these subjects have aspirations to pursue a Science-based career.   </p><p>The Science Faculty and individual classrooms are well resourced, our Science Centre comprises state-of-the-art Science laboratories. The Faculty is also supported by a laboratory assistant who utilises a well-resourced preparation area, allowing for authentic science learning tasks to be central to the curriculum. </p><p>Teachers at Frensham Schools are fully engaged in individual support of students, both in and out of the classroom. They are responsible for highly developed, differentiated programmes, assessment and teaching and learning strategies. Members of the Science Faculty encourage students to undertake Science subjects at the highest level and are successful in this pursuit. </p><p>This position would suit an experienced teacher or new graduate who has delivered or has the ability to deliver <strong>Stage 6 Biology</strong> and teach junior science wanting to share their talents in a school where students are highly motivated and love being at School.</p><p>The successful applicant will have the capacity to facilitate innovative and adaptive approaches that allow students to experience the adventure of experiment and the excitement of breaking new ground.</p><p>They will be a passionate, inspirational and energetic classroom teacher with the proven ability to improve student learning outcomes. </p><p>All teaching staff are committed to a professional learning program focused on improvement in professional practice as part of a school-wide pursuit of excellence in teaching.</p><p><strong>Role Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Possess appropriate teaching and tertiary qualifications relevant to the position. </li><li>Experience teaching or ability to teach Junior Science and HSC Biology.</li><li>Dynamic and effective classroom practitioner.</li><li>Ability to differentiate instruction and cater for a range of learning abilities and needs.</li><li>Thorough understanding of the learning process, including the role of assessment and feedback.</li><li>A commitment to pastoral care and meeting the social and emotional wellbeing needs of students. </li><li>An understanding of and commitment to the educational needs of young women.  </li><li>A commitment to collaborative teaching practices and an ability to contribute to a team and faculty of professional educators. </li><li>An ability to use ICT to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement beyond the classroom.</li></ul><p><strong>Personal Capabilities and Characteristics </strong></p><ul><li>Commitment to the values and ethos of Frensham Schools. </li><li>Willingness to contribute to the full life of the School, through involvement in Boarding and co-curricular activities.</li><li>Commitment to ongoing professional development.</li><li>Open-minded, collaborative, enthusiastic and optimistic.</li><li>Personal integrity, honesty and fairness.</li><li>Creative and well-organised.</li></ul><p><strong>Please note:</strong> The provision of accommodation on campus may be available to the suitable candidate.</p><p><strong>Commencement: </strong>Term 1, 2025.</p><p><i>All staff at Frensham Schools take an active role in ensuring our Child Protection programs, policies and processes are at the forefront of all that we do.
