<p>St. Martin de Porres is seeking a passionate and skilled Literacy Leader who is able to inspire and guide others to grow every learner in their literacy abilities.</p><p>As a member of our energetic and high-functioning leadership team, you&#39;ll play a vital role in leading literacy learning as well as literacy intervention across Prep to Year Six.</p><p>The Literacy Leader &amp; Intervention Teacher position includes a POL 1 with a tenure of 3 years.  It includes 0.5 Literacy Leader and 0.5 Intervention Teacher. </p><p>Ideally, this is a full time position, however an openness to other time fractions where students&#39; needs are matched to those of the successful candidate, is offered.</p><p><strong>KEY SELECTION CRITERIA</strong></p><p>Applicants will be expected to:</p><ul><li>guide, facilitate, mentor, model, coach and support classroom teachers and support staff to implement best practice in Literacy Education</li><li>plan and lead Literacy professional learning for staff including the induction of new staff to build expertise and consistency</li><li>implement MACS Vision For Instruction in line with the SMDP 2025-2028 School Improvement Plan</li><li>collaborate with Learning &amp; Teaching Leader to manage, analyse and act on Literacy data</li><li>use evidence-based strategies to progress learners, including but not limited to Multi Lit, Reading Recovery and Levelled Literacy Intervention </li><li>work collaboratively with all members of the Intervention Team</li><li>be a member of the School Leadership Team including active participation at weekly leadership meetings </li><li>embrace and participate in the life of the St Martin de Porres school community.</li></ul><p><i>St Martin de Porres is a child safe school and is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.</i></p><p><strong>Application Procedures</strong></p><p>Applicants should:</p><ul><li>provide a cover letter succinctly and clearly addressing the key selection criteria and a current resume including three referees one of whom is an applicant&#39;s current principal</li><li>have relevant teaching qualifications</li><li>have strong knowledge and/or experience in leading literacy</li><li>be currently registered with VIT</li><li>have accreditation to teach Religious Education (or will work towards accreditation)</li><li>be committed to the ethos of Catholic education.</li></ul>
