Opening in 2023 with a foundation Kindergarten enrollment, children and families are a part of a vibrant and welcoming Catholic community where outstanding teaching and learning inspires all to be the face of Christ in our world. Our future-focused learning hubs provide spaces for children to strive to achieve their potential, explore, be curious, be courageous with their learning, develop empathy for others, and build positive relationships.<br /> <br />In 2025, St Joseph's will have an enrolment of Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2, and will grow each year until the school is a full Kindergarten to Year 6.<br /> <br />Our school is located within the Parish of Sydney City South. The St Joseph's Rosebery Church and St Joseph's Preschool and Long Day Care Centre are also on-site.<br /> <br /><strong>Position Highlights</strong><br /> <br />The successful applicant will join the school with a focus on providing quality Catholic education, maximising student outcomes by offering a rich, relevant and holistic curriculum that is student centred, flexible and challenging.<br /> <br />This full-time, permanent role is scheduled to commence on Friday 31 January 2025. Not required to work in school holidays</li> <li>salary packaging of up to $15,900 annually</li> <li>up to 25% discount on school fees for parents of SCS students</li> <li>ongoing training and development opportunities</li> <li>discounts on gym classes and memberships, activewear, healthy meals, and wellbeing products</li> <li>generous Employee Referral Program.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About You</strong><br /> <br />As a Reading Recovery (0.5) and Literacy/Numeracy Intervention (0.5) Full-Time Teacher, you work to ensure that Reading Recovery is implemented effectively in Year 1 and that all students reach their full potential through high-quality, collaborative and engaging pedagogy.<br /> <br />To excel in this role, you will be able to:</p> <ul> <li>teach Reading Recovery</li> <li>create and implement engaging, rigorous planned learning experiences catering to the diverse needs of students in literacy and numeracy</li> <li>demonstrate sound knowledge in developing a K-6 Curriculum and the application of effective learning pedagogies</li> <li>utilise formative and summative assessments to drive student progress</li> <li>employ a data-informed approach to setting challenging learning objectives and providing constructive feedback</li> <li>support the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students</li> <li>demonstrate excellent classroom management skills focused on student well-being</li> <li>integrate technology to enhance contemporary learning experiences.</li> </ul> <p>You will have attained:</p> <ul> <li>a tertiary qualification in Education</li> <li>qualification as a current Reading Recovery teacher</li> <li>eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)</li> <li>Religious Education qualifications or the willingness to achieve them as per<a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/policies/accreditation-policy-to-work-teach-and-lead-in-sydney-catholic-schools"> Accreditation Policy to Work, Teach, and Lead</a>.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Application Process</strong><br /> <br />Please click on the 'Apply' button and follow the steps to submit your application.
