<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p><strong>Mandarin Teacher (Contract)</strong></p>
<p>St Aloysius' College is seeking to appoint an experienced and passionate Mandarin Teacher to inspire and cultivate the linguistic excellence and cultural appreciation in our students. As a member of our experienced and dedicated Languages Department, you will utilise your expertise to teach Mandarin to primary (3-6) and secondary (7-12) school students.</p>
<p>This role is responsible for teaching students at all levels of proficiency (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced) and is instrumental in cultivating a strong foundation in language skills, emphasising the importance of listening, reading, speaking and writing. </p>
<p>Reporting to the Head of Languages, the successful candidate will demonstrate contemporary pedagogy and share a passion for innovation, developing and implementing innovative teaching programs that engage, enrich and inspire students learning. They will also create a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment, conducive to meeting the educational needs of students, and demonstrate a deep commitment to the wellbeing of each student.</p>

<p><strong>About You</strong></p>
<p>To be considered for this position, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate:</p>
<ul>
<li>Commitment to the mission of Catholic education of boys in the Jesuit tradition;</li>
<li>Possess relevant primary and secondary teaching qualifications, specifically in Chinese Language (Mandarin) and eligibility to teach under the requirements of NESA and College policy;</li>
<li>Strong understanding of relevant curriculum requirements of the NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA) for Languages (Primary & Secondary);</li>
<li>Understanding of how students learn languages, especially scripted and tonal languages;</li>
<li>Fluency in Mandarin language;</li>
<li>Ability to teach Years 3-6 or 7-9 Core and Prior learners in a mixed ability classroom is essential;</li>
<li>Ability to teach Years 10-12 Continuers/Extension is advantageous;</li>
<li>Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with teachers in the development, implementation and evaluation of NESA based programs;</li>
<li>Proven ability to facilitate a warm, engaging and high-quality learning environment that meets the academic, social and emotional needs of all students;</li>
<li>High level of interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with staff, students, parents and the broader College community;</li>
<li>Excellent ICT skills and the ability to integrate technology into learning programs to improve educational outcomes;</li>
<li>Possess a valid Working with Children Check;</li>
<li>Strong commitment to child safeguarding principles.</li>
</ul>
