Since opening in 1961, Westminster’s vibrant sense of community has shaped our welcoming, down-to-earth character, enriched by School values of being brave, humble, kind, authentic, resilient and curious.<br /><br /><strong>About the role</strong></p><p>The Preparatory School Learning Support Coordinator (referred to as STRETCH across the School) develops, coordinates and administers processes for identifying and supporting the learning of students whose learning needs cannot be accommodated solely through regular class programs, including gifted and talented students. The Preparatory School STRETCH Coordinator teaches students in the STRETCH program, and performs other duties common to all Westminster School Preparatory School teachers. They provide leadership of the STRETCH Learning Support Assistants team in the Preparatory School.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities include:</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and coordinate processes for identifying and prioritising students with additional learning needs</li><li>Support classroom teachers to identify students with learning difficulties and highly able students</li><li>Lead and manage the Prep STRETCH faculty staff</li><li>Plan, coordinate, support and continuously improve programs and approaches to maximise learning outcomes for STRETCH students</li><li>Provide direct teaching and remediation to students as part of the STRETCH program</li><li>Perform administrative and liaison tasks associated with the STRETCH program and STRETCH students</li></ul><p><strong>Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications, Skills and Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Relevant tertiary qualifications and current registration with (or be eligible to obtain) Teachers Registration Board of South Australia</li><li>Demonstrated experience in a similar role with the ability to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate differentiated teaching programs for students</li><li>Demonstrated passion for, and experience in, teaching Primary students</li><li>Have the capacity to improve outcomes through intervention with students individually or small groups</li><li>Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and relevant Government funding availability</li><li>Demonstrated success in forming collaborative professional relationships</li><li>The capability to work co-operatively with students, staff and parents to produce the best learning outcomes for students.</li><li>Regular and up to date professional knowledge and learning<br /> </li></ul><p><strong>Key Selection Criteria: Personal Qualities:</strong></p><ul><li>Enthusiastic, resilient and optimistic educator</li><li>high level communication skills</li><li>A high level of organisational ability: is flexible and can prioritise and manage multiple demands in a fast paced environment</li><li>Highly developed interpersonal skills which enable positive relationships to be built with managers, peers, staff, parents and students</li><li>Able to successfully work independently, and collaboratively, as part of a team</li><li>A commitment to lifelong learning and continuous improvement<br /> </li></ul><p>For detailed information regarding this position please refer to the position description, available on our website under Careers - https://www.westminster.sa.edu.au/<br />This position has a Band 1 Salary of up to $121,653 (step 10) + a Band 2 Allowance of $6,923per annum + 0.5 FTE time release.</p><p>Alternatively, please contact our Human Resources team at humanresources@westminster.sa.edu.au<br /><br />To apply please submit your resume and cover letter addressed to Simon McKenzie, Head of Preparatory School by 9am Monday 14th October 2024.</p><p>Previous applicants need not apply.
