R-12 Assistant Head of Student Wellbeing

We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic R-12 Assistant Head of Student Wellbeing to join our team. In this role, you will support the implementation of our wellbeing programs, ensuring students develop self-awareness and the skills needed to navigate the complexities of relationships, challenges, and change.
<p><strong>Position:</strong> R-12 Assistant Head of Student Wellbeing</p><p><strong>Start Date:</strong> 15 January 2024</p><p><strong>Employment Type:</strong> 3-year PAR leadership role with security of a full-time ongoing teaching position. </p><p>Tatachilla Lutheran College is an R-12 co-educational Christian school built on Kaurna Country set on 26 hectares of world-class rural beauty.</p><p>Education at Tatachilla is a hands-on, lived experience. At the heart of student wellbeing is a sense of belonging and connection through relationships with others. Our approach to wellbeing is multi-faceted, incorporating restorative practices, executive function skills development, Keeping Safe Child Protection Curriculum, Positive Education, and a range of social skills programs. We believe that social and emotional literacy is essential for students to thrive and become resilient individuals. </p><p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE:</strong></p><p>We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic <strong>R-12 Assistant Head of Student Wellbeing</strong> to join our team. In this role, you will support the implementation of our wellbeing programs, ensuring students develop self-awareness and the skills needed to navigate the complexities of relationships, challenges, and change.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Assume oversight of the implementation of R-12 Wellbeing programs.</li><li>Support Flourish Coordinators and Home Class Teachers in delivering wellbeing programs and personalised behaviour support.</li><li>Assist Heads of Years in operational matters related to student wellbeing.</li><li>Lead and mentor Flourish Leaders in wellbeing and behaviour support practices.</li><li>Manage student referrals to student counsellors and support the development of Wellbeing Support Plans.</li><li>Facilitate smooth transitions for students between sub-schools.</li><li>Ensure consistency in behaviour support practices R-12 in partnership with Heads of Years.</li><li>Engage in out-of-hours activities that enhance the College’s educational and community initiatives.</li><li>Foster strong partnerships with parents, recognising the importance of collaborative relationships in maximising student wellbeing and learning</li><li>Model spiritual leadership in all working relationships within the community;</li></ul><p><strong>ABOUT YOU:</strong></p><p><strong>Qualifications, Skills and Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>A registered teacher with demonstrated competence in educational leadership. </li><li>Academic qualifications in keeping with the level of responsibility, preferably including postgraduate study.</li><li>Strong understanding of Lutheran values and a commitment to Christian education.</li><li>Proven experience in a wellbeing or pastoral care role across Reception to Year 12.</li><li>Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.</li><li>Experience in data analysis to inform wellbeing initiatives and review outcomes.</li></ul><p><strong>APPLICATION PROCESS:</strong></p><p>To apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your suitability for the role to <a href="mailto:jobs@tatachilla.sa.edu.au" rel="nofollow">jobs@tatachilla.sa.edu.au</a>.
