In this way, they not only achieve their academic potential but become well-rounded individuals, highly equipped to make a difference in the world.<br><br><strong>About the Role</strong><br><br>The <strong>Instructional Specialist</strong> is an exemplary classroom practitioner and member of the school's senior leadership team.<br><br>The Instructional Specialist is responsible for leading school wide teaching and learning initiatives, supporting teachers to deliver a high quality reformed curriculum, transforming pedagogical practice, and ensuring excellent student outcomes. The role is also responsible for supporting the implementation of system-wide teaching and learning initiatives, collaborating with network Teaching &amp; Learning Coaches to implement 'SCS Excellence in Action' across Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS).<br><br>The Instructional Specialist is a promotional role, temporary for 3 years, however, your classroom teaching position (1FTE) will be full-time, and permanent. Your promotional role will entail 0.4FTE release time and will be to model classroom practitioner excellence, improve learning outcomes and bring about change in the instruction of teachers K-6.<br><br>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p><ul><li>lead school-wide improvement initiatives targeted at lifting student achievement and growth</li><li>exhibit exemplary, evidence-based practice and lead colleagues to plan, implement and review the effectiveness of their learning and teaching</li><li>lead collaborative practice with colleagues to modify and expand their repertoire of teaching strategies by modelling exemplary classroom practice</li><li>conduct thorough analyses of data and trends within the school to identify areas for growth, informing targeted instructional strategies and interventions that foster continuous improvement</li><li>plan and lead the development of professional learning that address the professional learning needs of colleagues</li><li>supporting the implementation of 'SCS Excellence in Action'</li><li>facilitate the sharing of effective practices by actively engaging in and contributing to Network Professional Learning Communities, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across schools</li><li>any other duties as directed from time to time.</li></ul><p><strong>About You</strong><br><br>To be successful in this position, you must possess:</p><ul><li>a university degree in Education or Teaching</li><li>accreditation as a Proficient teacher with NESA</li><li>demonstrated practice equivalent to Highly Accomplished or Lead level of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers</li><li>Religious Education qualifications or the willingness to achieve them as per<a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/policies/accreditation-policy-to-work-teach-and-lead-in-sydney-catholic-schools"> Accreditation Policy to Work, Teach, and Lead</a>.</li><li>a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in a school</li><li>experience in leading staff in professional learning</li><li>demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and implementing school-wide initiatives</li><li>experience in using data analysis to inform educational initiatives</li><li>the ability to articulate contemporary educational trends in both local and international contexts</li><li>strong written, oral and presentation skills.</li></ul><p>Desirable</p><ul><li>postgraduate qualification in Education or a related discipline</li><li>current driver's licence</li><li>a Baptised Catholic with demonstrated evidence of ongoing commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and engagement in the life of a Catholic faith community, such as a parish or an established community within the Catholic Church, as an expression of their relationship with Jesus Christ.</li></ul><p><strong>Why Work for Sydney Catholic Schools</strong><br><br>In joining<a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/about-us"> Sydney Catholic Schools</a>, you will be part of the largest Catholic education community in NSW, with a unified vision and shared resources, encompassing over 145 schools and over 74,000 students.
