Nawarddeken Academy is now recruiting teachers to join our team and become part of a transformative educational journey in the stunning Stone Country of West Arnhem Land.</p><p><strong>About Us:</strong></p><p>The Nawarddeken Academy offers a unique model of bi-cultural, community-driven education in remote Indigenous communities. Our schools were established at the request of local Indigenous elders, who wanted desperately for their children to be able to access fulltime education in their home communities. </p><p>We operate three schools within the Warddeken IPA: Kabulwarnamyo, Manmoyi, and Mamadawerre. </p><p><strong>Opportunities Available:</strong></p><p>Nawarddeken Academy is currently seeking passionate teachers to join our team in 2025. This is your chance to work in a unique and culturally immersive environment, where you can have a profound impact on the lives of Indigenous children.</p><p><strong>Selection Criteria:</strong></p><ol><li>Experience in teaching multiple Key Learning Areas of the Australian Curriculum</li><li>Knowledge and capacity, or willingness to develop competency, in explicitly teaching foundational literacy and numeracy skills</li><li>Understanding of differentiation across in a multi-aged classrooms</li><li>Experience in working in a remote context, alongside local teachers</li><li>Personal philosophy regarding teaching and behaviour management</li><li>Familiarity with the Australian Curriculum</li><li>You must be eligible to work full time in Australia - Unlimited Work Rights</li></ol><p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p><p>Competitive salary package and conditions<br />Immersive cultural experiences<br />Professional development opportunities<br />Contribution to Indigenous education and community development<br />Opportunity to explore the natural beauty of west Arnhem Land</p>
