An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Music Teacher to join the permanent staff at Willunga Waldorf School in late January 2025.

<p>We are now inviting applications for the role of <strong>Music Teacher</strong> (years 6-9) to join our school in late January 2025.</p><p>We are a thriving, contemporary, independent K to 12 school nestled in the beautiful Southern Vales of South Australia, close to magnificent coastline and surrounded by vines and almond groves. It is situated on the edge of the rural town ship of Willunga, fifty minutes’ drive from the city of Adelaide. Here you will find an educational community where the potential of each one is supported through the strength of many. </p><p>In 2024, the School began double-streaming and embarked on an exciting journey of growth over the next twelve years.</p><p>The <strong>Music Teacher</strong> <strong>(Middle and Lower High School)</strong> will be responsible for implementing the music curriculum across classes 6 to 9, in consultation with and supporting the Class Teachers/Guardians as required. This includes leading choir and ensembles practice. They actively support events such as daily singing in the High School (Morning Circle), the Autumn, Spring and Winter Festivals, Autumn Fair, Instrumental Nights and End of Year Concert.</p><p>The successful applicant will be an <strong>inspiring music educator</strong> with a genuine interest and warmth for facilitating young people’s individual learning journeys in a Waldorf classroom setting. They will be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, have a generally positive attitude and outlook, and are able to set boundaries with empathy and respect for students, colleagues, and the parent community.</p><p><strong>KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:</strong></p><ul><li>Classroom experience teaching music in upper primary/lower high school years</li><li>Outstanding rapport with adolescents</li><li>Experience working with neurodiverse students</li><li>Confidence to lead with singing as the main teaching tool</li><li>Leading choirs, both a cappella and accompanied</li><li>Good vocal ability</li><li>Ability to imaginatively link music theory concepts with classroom activities</li><li>Demonstrated commitment to the pursuit of excellence in teaching children and young people</li><li>Skills in singing, piano, percussion and/or string playing</li><li>Demonstrated ability to develop, document and differentiate curriculum</li><li>Must hold or be eligible for Teacher Registration in South Australia</li><li>Must have full working rights in Australia</li></ul><p>Must hold a current SA Working with Children Check as well as provide/obtain RRHAN-EC and Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting.</p><p>We encourage you to visit the school website for a copy of the full position description:  <a href="https://wws.sa.edu.au/our-school/employment-opportunities/" rel="nofollow">https://wws.sa.edu.au/our-school/employment-opportunities/</a></p><p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p><p>Willunga Waldorf School offers an exciting, supportive and rewarding environment to work.
