Central Coast Steiner School is an independent, co-educational school offering a contemporary educational pathway from Early Childhood to Year 12. We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant for our Secondary School commencing Term 1, 2025. This is a part-time position 24.5 hours per week (FTE 0.55)

Join us in embracing a truly enriching educational experience that empowers young minds to thrive academically, artistically, and ethically. </p><p><strong>Key Selection Criteria:</strong></p><p>The successful candidate will ideally:</p><ul><li>Have a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Education Support (CHC30213) or equivalent </li><li>Have a sound understanding of the NSW Australian curriculum for Stages 4-6 (preferably Stage 6 experience)</li><li>Be a collaborative team member who participates in meetings and events, and uses communication channels effectively to support students and staff</li><li>Demonstrate a high level of competence in making adjustments for students who need support</li><li>Show confidence in monitoring the progress of the students, and providing teachers with regular updates</li><li>Be able to lead small-group instruction and discussions if required</li><li>Demonstrate a sound understanding of curriculum differentiation </li><li>Have excellent standards in literacy and numeracy</li><li>Have an excellent command of spoken English</li><li>Have experience in professional settings that require a positive rapport with teenagers and show confidence in interacting comfortably with teenagers</li><li>Understand the principles and practices of Steiner education, or show a willingness to learn</li><li>Take initiative and be flexible, but also take direction from teachers as required</li><li>Understand the importance of confidentiality </li></ul><p>The successful candidate must also provide a Working with Children Clearance before commencing. </p><p>Applicants must address Key Selection Criteria in their application and submit it along with a cover letter, resume and copies of qualifications. Please provide contact details for 2 referees who have worked with you in a supervisory capacity.</p><p><strong>Applications are to be sent to </strong><a href="mailto:employment&#64;ccrss.nsw.edu.au" rel="nofollow"><strong>employment&#64;ccrss.nsw.edu.au</strong></a><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Applications close:</strong> 24 October 2024</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
