St Mary's Greensborough is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Literacy Leader with a deep understanding of the Vision for Instruction, Cognitive Sciences and Victorian Curriculum 2.0 . The successful applicant works in a team environment leading staff to build pedagogical understanding of Literacy for improved outcomes for students. The Literacy Leader appointment commences Term 1 2025.

<p>The successful applicant will have a passion for leadership and literacy and be responsible for targeted teaching and growth of teachers and students. They will work well in a team collaborating with the Literacy Coach, Learning Culture Leader and teach and instil in the students and staff, a love of literacy and learning.</p><p>The successful applicant will have demonstrated leadership skills and a passion for learning, be familiar with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0, and be able to collaborate with the Literacy Coach and Learning Culture Leader as part of a team working towards improving learning outcomes for all students at St Mary&#39;s. A strong knowledge of the English curriculum and an understanding of the MACS 2030 strategy and Vision for Instruction is essential.</p><p>The successful applicant will exercise the behaviours and dispositions of a highly effective leader i.e. be student centred,  promote life-giving relationships, support evidence-informed improvement, believe in and pursue their own learning and growth and provide clarity and direction for staff, students and parents.</p><p>St Mary&#39;s Greensborough Primary School is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.</p><p><u>Selection Criteria:</u></p><p>1. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Literacy improvement evidenced through research, data and improvement in current pedagogical practices.</p><p>2. Explanation of how to plan strategically for school improvement in Literacy, as documented in the MACS Vision for Instruction, the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 and the school’s Vision</p><p>3. Developed organisational and time management skills with an ability to work independently and as a team.</p><p>4. Demonstrated capacity to lead and manage in ways that values and upholds high expectations of staff and students and that promote learning, growth and success.</p><p>5. Demonstrated ability to reflect on one&#39;s own practise and commitment to ongoing professional learning and growth in the areas of education, leadership and Literacy.</p><p><u>Special Requirements</u></p><p>The successful applicant should:</p><p>-have accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school (is desirable).</p><p>-be committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this and to ongoing evaluation of these practices</p><p>-have read and be committed to maintaining the standards as set out in our Staff Code of Conduct</p><p>-have read, and be aware of, the attached role description and Application for Employment</p><p>-after having completed the Application for Employment listing three referees include, where applicable your current and previous Principals</p><p>-hold a current VIT registration</p><p>email your application and cover letter to the Principal, Marisa Matthys principal&#64;smgreensborough.catholic.edu.au</p>
