Marist College is looking for a dynamic coordinator to lead the learning and teaching of the Marist College Junior School (Years 4-6). This leadership position will drive the key strategic directions and initiatives of the College in improving learning and teaching in the Junior School. This is offered as an ongoing position, commencing from Term 1, 2025.

<p>Marist College is a Congregational Catholic school for boys (Year 4-12) operating as part of ‘Marist Schools Australia’. It has an enrolment of approximately 1830 students, and enjoys an excellent reputation for its pastoral care of students, academic studies, cultural and sport pursuits.</p><p>Marist College is looking for a dynamic coordinator to lead the learning and teaching of the Marist College Junior School (Years 4-6) from Term 1, 2025.  The Head of Learning and Teaching - Junior School is a middle leadership position, responsible for the implementation of the curriculum for over 450 boys. With the Head of Junior School and the Assistant Head of School - Learning and Teaching, this Learning &amp; Teaching leader will drive the key strategic directions and initiatives of the College in improving learning and teaching in the Junior School.</p><p>The suitable applicant will have demonstrated experience in leading curriculum and be informed of current educational research. An ability to motivate, energise and work alongside staff in ongoing pedagogical improvement is a necessity. The College has aligned their practices with an Explicit Instruction, Knowledge-Rich approach. Experience in creating and delivering a Knowledge Rich curriculum, including an understanding of the The Writing Revolution, is highly desirable. The position involves classroom teaching with release time.</p><p>Staff at Marist College Canberra are responsible for the promotion of an atmosphere of charity and justice within the College, as is expected in a Catholic community and to help ensure the provision of the Catholic perspective in the teaching and learning process and in all the activities of the College.</p><p>All teachers have a responsibility to develop and maintain an understanding of Catholic beliefs and those aspects of Catholic teaching that relate to their subject areas. Through their own example they provide Christian leadership for all members of the school community.</p><p>Only a person supportive of Catholic Education philosophy may be a teacher in a Catholic School.
