The Leader of Learning - Religious Education is responsible for the administration and implementation of the Religious Education Curriculum of the College, including priorities of Edmund Rice Education Australia and in conformity with the Studies of Religion Syllabus.

<p><strong><u>Basic Role Purpose</u></strong></p><p>The Leader of Learning - Religious Education is responsible for the administration and implementation of the Religious Education Curriculum of the College, including priorities of Edmund Rice Education Australia and in conformity with the Studies of Religion Syllabus. The Leader of Learning reports to the Assistant Principal – Teaching and Learning and works collaboratively as a member of the Mission &amp; Identity Team within the College. The Assistant Principal - Mission &amp; Identity leads the Team and is responsible for liturgy and formation. Other members of the Team include the Social Justice Coordinator and the Youth Minister. </p><p><strong><u>Conditions of Employment</u></strong></p><ul><li>Responsibility for teaching programs, assessment, reporting and resources in Years 5 – 12;</li><li>Approximately 0.7 teaching/0.3 release time;</li><li>Coordinator 3 allowance;</li><li>An initial two year appointment to the promotions position, and, following satisfactory appraisal then further three year appointments to the promotions position.</li></ul><p><strong><u>The successful applicant will:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Be committed to and supportive of the Mission of Catholic Schools with specific reference to the Edmund Rice charism and tradition of the College;</li><li>Have experience in teaching Religious Education and Studies of Religion;</li><li>Possess formal tertiary qualifications in Religious Education, Theology or equivalent;</li><li>Exhibit a high standard of competence, professionalism and organisational proficiency;</li><li>Be an excellent practitioner and be able to convey and model best practice teaching to colleagues;</li><li>Have highly developed written and verbal communication skills;</li><li>Have an understanding and appreciation of the structure and characteristics of boys’ education;</li><li>Participating in the spiritual life of the College, including student retreats and formation activities;</li><li>Contribute to the Social Justice Program at the College;</li><li>Be actively involved in the College’s cocurricular program.</li></ul><p>Visit the College website <a href="http://spx.nsw.edu.au" rel="nofollow">http://spx.nsw.edu.au</a> for more information and details on how to apply.</p><p> </p>
