Oxley College seeks a dynamic, experienced educator to join its innovative and thriving community as Head of Junior School.

<p>Oxley College is an independent, co-educational Pre-K to 12 day school in the Southern Highlands of NSW, with 850 students. It values holistic education, fostering character, care, and academic rigour. The college is committed to a dynamic, evidence-based learning environment, centred on students’ needs. The community upholds values of kindness, courage, and wisdom, working with parents to nurture each student's academic, emotional, and social development for positive global contributions.</p><p>The Head of Junior School holds a prominent place within the College's Executive Leadership Team, with strategic accountability to the Head of College and operational oversight from the Deputy Head of College. This dual reporting structure underscores the importance of the role in maintaining a harmonious balance between visionary educational leadership and the efficient day-to-day functioning of the Junior School.</p><p>The Head of Junior School is tasked with orchestrating the comprehensive educational experience of Junior School students, adopting a ‘whole child’ approach. This encompasses not only the academic dimension but also their physical, social and emotional development. We anticipate that the successful candidate will bring a forward-looking vision for outstanding junior education, one that embraces innovative approaches to curriculum design and wellbeing initiatives, all while aligning with the College’s values and wellbeing framework.</p><p>Key Selection Criteria</p><ul><li>Ability to inspire and lead staff, students, and the wider school community in embracing and upholding the College’s values and vision. </li><li>Experience in educational leadership with a focus on innovative curriculum design and wellbeing initiatives. </li><li>Expertise in initiating and leading change in schools, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation. </li><li>Commitment to professional growth, both personally and for the Junior School staff. </li><li>Operational leadership in managing the day-to-day activities of a Junior School, including oversight of staff, student wellbeing, resource allocation, and administrative responsibilities. </li><li>Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and the broader community.</li></ul><p>Oxley College has zero tolerance for child abuse and is committed to providing a child safe environment where children and young people are safe and feel safe, as outlined in the Child Protection Policy. </p><p><strong>Hutton Consulting Australia</strong> is partnering with Oxley College in the search and selection process for this position.
