St Mary's College is seeking a teacher to join our dynamic professional learning team working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in 2025. St Mary's College Sunbury campus works in partnership with Salesian College Sunbury.

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>To take responsibility for a core group of St Mary’s College students, including partaking in Parent Support Group (PSG) meetings, developing Personal Learning Plans (PLP) and ensuring adjustments and interventions are in place.</li><li>To provide explicit teaching to assigned students or classes following MACS Vision for Instruction practice and following the Victorian Curriculum and Expanded Core Curriculum for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students.</li><li>To identify and respond to the social and learning needs of deaf and hard of hearing students within inclusive education settings.</li><li>To liaise with families, allied professionals and partner school staff on student progress, engagement, assessment and reporting.</li><li>To work as part of a St Mary’s professional learning (PLC) team in striving to achieve high student outcomes through data analysis and evidence-based practice.</li><li>To be subject to the same directions as apply to all the staff of the partner school as well as St Mary’s Principal.</li></ul><p><strong>Role</strong></p><ol><li>Planning and implementation of student plans containing specific goals which will be included in teaching and interventions programs.</li><li>Teaching well planned units of work with clear learning intentions, success criteria and sequence of instruction as identified through needs assessment and following a multi-tiered intervention system.</li><li>Assessing, collecting data and using research-based knowledge to plan differentiated teaching through a cycle of inquiry process.</li><li>Documenting learning, student assessments and achievement outcomes on a continual basis through the Learning Management Platform (SIMON).</li><li>Using feedback from coaching, observation and student data to measure impact and make adjustments to practice. </li><li>Providing support, advice and guidance to partner school teachers on modifications and adjustments as appropriate.</li><li>Following procedures and practices as identified in St Mary’s Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework.</li><li>Being responsive to the pastoral care needs of students and their families.</li></ol><p><strong>Commitment to Child Safety</strong><br />The successful applicant will:<br />•    Be familiar with and comply with the school&#39;s child-safe policy and code of conduct, and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety. <br />•    Assist in the provision of a child-safe environment for students.</p><p><strong>Qualification and Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Professional qualifications in the education of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (or a willingness to undertake further study).</li><li>Registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.</li><li>Willingness to support and participate in the Faith activities of the school community.</li><li>Capacity to understand and implement Duty of Care and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.</li></ul><p><i>Teachers without qualifications to teach Deaf and Hard of Hearing students are able to access a fully funded scholarship through St Mary’s to complete an appropriate Master of Learning Intervention or Disabilities Studies. </i><br /> </p><p>St Mary’s College offers a generous remuneration package to employees.
