<p><strong>St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Gilgandra</strong><br><strong>Co-educational, years K-6</strong><br><strong>Permanent, full time teaching role</strong><br><strong>Commencing Term 1 2025</strong></p><p><strong>About the Role</strong><br>As a senior leader in our school, the Assistant Principal collaborates closely with the Principal to guide and nurture the school community as a centre of faith, inclusion, and missionary discipleship. This pivotal role shares responsibility for steering the school's mission and vision, ensuring the delivery of high-quality Catholic learning and teaching experiences. The Assistant Principal achieves this through various key functions:</p><ul><li>Fostering a Faith Community – The Assistant Principal plays a crucial role in creating a vibrant faith community and inspiring leadership to foster a deep sense of spirituality and belief in Catholic values.</li><li>Cultivating a Student-Centered Learning Culture – The Assistant Principal will spearhead the development of a contemporary, student-centered learning environment to drive positive change and continuous improvement in the school.</li><li>Building Collaborative Partnerships – The Assistant Principal will foster and support these relationships, and contribute to the sense of belonging to the local Catholic community and parishes for our families and students.</li><li>Advancing the Vision of Catholic Education: The Assistant Principal actively promotes and upholds the vision and mission of Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst<br><br> </li></ul><p><strong>About You</strong><br>We are looking for someone who is able to address the following selection criteria:</p><ul><li>The ability to develop and foster positive and productive relationships with students, staff and families in a complex and dynamic environment</li><li>An excellent classroom teacher who demonstrates the capacity to innovate in order to meet their student’s needs</li><li>The ability to professionally present to staff, students and parents in a variety of formats</li><li>A sound understanding of high-quality curriculum and pedagogy, and capacity to lead staff in the ongoing formation of their pedagogical approach in the school</li><li>Excellent organisational and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively in ensuring quality compliance with NESA and other regulatory bodies.</li><li>A practising Catholic with active and regular commitment to the local Parish, or a demonstrated commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school</li><li>Holds or is pursuing a Postgraduate Qualification in Education, Leadership, Theology or equivalent</li><li>Meets the requirements of (Category E) in the <a href="https://www.bth.catholic.edu.au/ContentUploads/files/Accreditation_to_Work_Lead_and_Teach_Policy.pdf">Accreditation Policy to Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Bathurst Diocese</a></li></ul><p><br><strong>About Our Offer</strong></p><ul><li>Values-based environment with a focus on spiritual growth and community</li><li>Ongoing professional development and networking opportunities including an “Aspiring Prinicipals” program</li><li>Collaborative leadership alongside the Principal and other educators</li><li>Supportive work culture fostering teamwork and respect</li></ul><p><br><strong>About Us</strong><br>Responsible for 33 schools, approximately 9,600 students and 1,700 staff, Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst (CEDB) is encompassed by the Blue Mountains, Warrumbungle Ranges, the Pilliga, Macquarie River, Lachlan River, Abercrombie River and the Jenolan State Forest.
