We are seeking a Teacher - Mathematics, responsible for delivering a cutting-edge curriculum at Sheldon College within the Mathematics Faculty. Working with a dynamic team of dedicated educators, your goal will be to enhance the capacity and confidence of students by delivering QCAA Syllabuses of Specialist Mathematics and Mathematical Methods
<p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>We are seeking a Teacher - Mathematics, responsible for delivering a cutting-edge curriculum at Sheldon College within the Mathematics Faculty. Working with a dynamic team of dedicated educators, your goal will be to enhance the capacity and confidence of students by delivering QCAA Syllabuses of Specialist Mathematics and Mathematical Methods</p><p>In addition the role requires you to:</p><ul><li>Plan, prepare and deliver exceptional teaching and learning programs for students which:<ul><li>are consistent with relevant syllabus documents, curriculum policies, work programs and educational trends.</li><li>address the needs of the learner and differentiate learning experiences, and</li><li>ensure students meet the highest levels of academic performance.</li></ul></li><li>Deliver project-based learning opportunities for student collaboration across multiple curriculum areas.</li><li>Maintain teaching competency and currency of knowledge of teaching practices to improve student achievement, with a focus on literacy and numeracy, as well as general educational trends.</li><li>Apply creative and innovative practices and processes in education and digital platform tools to support student learning.</li><li>Engage with students in ongoing feedback loops.</li><li>Use a wide range of formative and summative assessments to moderate and make consistent and informed-student judgements.</li><li>Emphasise reflection and self-directed learning with a commitment to continuously improve teaching practices.</li><li>Engage in the Wellbeing and Student Management processes of the College.</li></ul><p>This is a Permanent role commencing Term 1, 2025.</p><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>At <strong>Sheldon College</strong> we are striving to be an Employer of Choice. Bread, Raisin Toast, Condiments, Tea/Coffee, Milk.</li><li>Health initiatives including onsite pop-up clinics.</li><li>Health Insurance and Specsavers Discounts.</li><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Staff Wellness Committee;</li><li>Support for career progression and a strong focus on professional development.</li><li>Facilities and Resources that enable you to be the best, innovative professional in your field.</li></ul><p><strong> About you</strong></p><ul><li>Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications majoring in Mathematics and/or major or postgraduate in Education.</li><li>Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).</li><li>Demonstrated experience delivering Mathematics curriculum in Secondary Education.</li><li>Ability to plan and deliver exceptional teaching and learning programs that meet the needs of students in Mathematics according to ACARA and QCAA.</li><li>Passion for quality teaching and learning and the ability to translate this into a challenging learning environment with strong student engagement and excellent academic outcomes.</li><li>Demonstrated capacity for reflection and self-directed learning with a commitment to continuously improve teaching practices.</li><li>Demonstrated experience applying creative and innovative practices and processes in education and digital platform tools to support student learning.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to establish effective relationships with students, parents and colleagues and partnerships within the wider community.</li><li>Strong team orientation with a willingness to contribute and collaborate.</li><li>High standards of personal integrity and professionalism.<br /><br /><strong>Desirable Skills and Experience</strong></li><li>Experience and knowledge in preparing students for External Examinations.</li><li>QCAA accreditation in the QCE processes including Endorsement, Confirmation, External Marking Operation, Subject Matter Expert for any Mathematics syllabus.</li></ul><p><strong>About Us </strong> </p><p><strong>Sheldon College </strong>is an independent, co-educational, non-denominational College situated in Redland City, catering for students from 15 months of age through to Year 12.
