They’re like the secret superheroes of the classroom, working with teachers to help every child shine academically and spiritually, while guiding them to lead fulfilling lives.<br><br>Part of the vibrant Catholic community, LSA's help infuse the school with a spirit of faith and fun. They’re key players in making the school a dynamic place where creativity and curiosity flourish, and where students connect with their world in meaningful and engaging ways.<br><br>Under the teachers’ direction, LSA's jump into action with daily routines, lively classroom activities, and provide extra support to students with disabilities, making sure everyone has a great time learning and growing together.<br> </p><ul><li>Classroom Support: Assist students with disabilities in classroom activities to help them achieve educational goals under the supervision of teachers.<br> </li><li>Welfare and Wellbeing: Provide support for students' health and wellbeing, including personal care and creating a safe, supportive environment.<br> </li><li>Specialised Assistance: Perform additional duties in specialised or discrete classes, tailored to meet specific needs in these settings.<br> </li><li>Collaboration: Work with teachers to adapt materials and strategies, contributing to individualised learning plans and maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere.<br> </li><li>Monitoring: Observe and report on student progress and concerns to support effective educational strategies.<br> </li><li>Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) provides support for students with disability in classrooms and other learning environments under the direction and supervision of a teacher to support the achievement of educational outcomes. This support includes student welfare, health and wellbeing activities as required. In addition, Learning Support Assistants may provide specific support for students in discrete classes or specialised settings. Learning Support Assistants working in these settings have specific additional duties, in addition to the general duties for Learning Support Assistants that are required to be performed.<br><br>Application Process:<br><br>To apply, please submit your expression of interest, our People and Culture team will then review your application. If you are shortlisted, you will be contacted to complete the pre-screening process, which includes Working with Children Check, National Criminal Check, and other requirements. <br><br>Upon successful completion and approval, you will receive a casual employment contract, allowing you to engage with our schools through ClassCover. If you have previously worked with the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle, please note that you will still need to undergo pre-screening. Be sure to indicate this in your application.<br><br>Please be aware that employment within our Diocese can only commence once the pre-screening process is completed, and you have received a casual contract and a green tick on ClassCover.</li></ul>
