St Mary MacKillop College is Canberra’s largest secondary school, operating across two campuses. Years 7 to 9 are based on the Padua Campus (Wanniassa) and Years 10 to 12 are based on the St Peter’s Campus (Isabella Plains). The successful candidates will bring excellent teaching skills as well as exceptional Religious Education curriculum knowledge.</p><p>This role shares with the Principal and the Leadership Team the responsibility of:</p><ul><li>educational and spiritual leadership.</li><li>the development of a Christ-centred faith community.</li><li>ensuring Catholic perspectives are embedded across all subject areas.</li></ul><p>The role of Religious Education Coordinator is a Senior Leadership position. This position is to be held by a practicing Catholic who is committed to the Catholic faith and the spiritual wellbeing and growth of all.</p><p><strong>Employee Benefits&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>A positive and collaborative workplace culture&nbsp;</li><li>Extensive training in our high-quality professional learning program, Catalyst&nbsp;</li><li>Access to curriculum resources that support evidence-based, high-impact teaching practice&nbsp;</li><li>24 weeks of paid parental leave (maternity/adoption)&nbsp;</li><li>Up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave (paternity/non-initial primary carer leave)&nbsp;</li><li>Support for professional development and study opportunities&nbsp;</li><li>Opportunities to transfer to other schools within the Archdiocese across ACT and NSW to support lifestyle choice&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Criteria&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Be a practicing Catholic</li><li>Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest</li><li>For position in the ACT - TQI registration &amp; Working with Vulnerable People Card</li><li>For position in NSW - NESA registration &amp; NSW Working with Children Check.</li><li>Must be a qualified Teacher with a minimum of five years’ experience.</li><li>Must have completed, be due to complete or a willingness to complete Accreditation D and E, according to the Accreditation to work, teach and lead in a Catholic School Policy.</li></ul><p><strong>Selection Criteria&nbsp;</strong></p><ol><li>Has experience in leading and building the capacity of staff in Religious Education curricula.</li><li>Has experience in leading change and demonstrates contemporary pedagogy that focuses on improving student outcomes in Religious Education, including implementing High Impact Teaching Practices.</li><li>Has experience in evaluating, analyzing, and using data to inform learning and engage in future strategic planning in Religious Education.</li><li>Demonstrates effective communication with a variety of stakeholders to build relationships.</li><li>Has experience in working closely with the priests and the parish community to foster strong relationships with all parish agencies.</li></ol><p><strong>Other Eligibility Criteria&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible to apply for this position.&nbsp;</li><li>Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Application Process&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and current resume including a statement of suitability against the skills, attributes, and experience as outlined in the Position Description.&nbsp;</p><p>This position involves working with children.
