We are committed to living out the mission of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop by seeing a need and doing something about it. <br /> <br /><strong>Position Highlights</strong><br /> <br />The successful applicant will join the school with a focus on providing quality Catholic education, maximising student outcomes by offering a rich, relevant and holistic curriculum that is student centred, flexible and challenging.<br /> <br />This full-time role is scheduled to commence on Friday, 31 January 2025. The Instructional Specialist (Coordinator 3) aspect is temporary however the successful applicant will maintain a permanent teaching role. The Instructional Specialist is an exemplary classroom practitioner and a member of the school senior leadership team. The Instructional Specialist maintains a 0.6FTE classroom teaching load, and 0.4FTE working with their colleagues to model classroom practitioner excellence, improve learning outcomes and bring about change in the instruction of teachers K-6. <br /> <br />The Instructional Specialist is responsible for leading school wide teaching and learning initiatives, supporting teachers to deliver a high quality reformed curriculum, transforming pedagogical practice and ensuring excellent student outcomes. Salary calculated on averaged conditions</li> <li>salary packaging of up to $15,900 annually</li> <li>up to 25% discount on school fees for parents of SCS students</li> <li>ongoing training and development opportunities</li> <li>discounts on gym classes and memberships, activewear, healthy meals, and wellbeing products</li> <li>generous Employee Referral Program.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About You<br /></strong><br />As an Instructional Specialist - Coordinator 3, you work to ensure every student reaches their full potential through high-quality, collaborative and engaging pedagogy.<br /> <br />To excel in this role, you will be able to:</p> <ul> <li>support the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students</li> <li>lead school-wide improvement initiatives targeted at lifting student achievement and growth</li> <li>exhibit exemplary, evidence-based practice and lead colleagues to plan, implement and review the effectiveness of their learning and teaching</li> <li>lead collaborative practice with colleagues to modify and expand their repertoire of teaching strategies by modelling exemplary classroom practice</li> <li>conduct thorough analyses of data and trends within the school to identify areas for growth, informing targeted instructional strategies and interventions that foster continuous improvement</li> <li>plan and lead the development of professional learning that address the professional learning needs of colleagues</li> <li>support the implementation of 'SCS Excellence in Action' across Sydney Catholic Schools</li> <li>facilitate the sharing of effective practices by actively engaging in and contributing to Network Professional Learning Communities, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across schools</li> <li>promote and implement Sydney Catholic Schools mission and vision to know and love Christ through learning and Thriving Catholic communities through excellent teaching and learning</li> <li>respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools</li> <li>operate at the Highly Accomplished or Lead level of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers</li> </ul> <p>Essential Criteria:</p> <ul> <li>minimum 5 years of teaching experience in a school</li> <li>experienced in leading staff in professional learning</li> <li>demonstrated success in improving student outcomes</li> <li>demonstrated success in implementing school wide initiatives</li> <li>experienced in using data analysis to inform educational initiatives</li> <li>ability to articulate contemporary educational trends in both local and international contexts</li> <li>high order written, oral and presentation skills.</li> </ul> <p>You will have attained:</p> <ul> <li>a tertiary qualification in Education</li> <li>eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)</li> <li>Religious Education qualifications or the willingness to achieve them as per<a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/policies/accreditation-policy-to-work-teach-and-lead-in-sydney-catholic-schools"> Accreditation Policy to Work, Teach, and Lead</a>.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Application Process</strong><br /> <br />Please click on the 'Apply' button and follow the steps to submit your application.
