The College has achieved a well-deserved reputation for not only graduating great students but developing great teachers and educational leaders.</p><p>We are seeking to appoint an innovative, energetic, passionate and musically gifted educator to lead our CAPA Faculty 7-12 &amp; our Extra Curricular Performance (Primary &amp; Secondary). Suitably qualified professionals who have enthusiasm for and/or experience in teaching HSC Music are invited to apply.</p><p>Built on the philosophy of inclusion and joy of music, our Music Program (including Band, Strings &amp; Tuition Programs, Choirs and vocal groups) in both Primary and Secondary have built a strong and loyal team of musical professionals, who enjoy performance.</p><p>Ensuring high quality educational outcomes, to meet the highest possible standards for our students is part of our values and ethos. Teachers should be committed to their own professional development and expanding work practices to fulfil these values.</p><p>This position reports directly to the Head of Secondary and Primary and commences at the start of Term 1, 2025. It involves a Secondary teaching load and Coordinator 2 allowance. </p><p> </p><p><strong>Key Selection Criteria</strong></p><p>•    Lead and manage the CAPA Faculty including, modelling best practice in teaching, implementation and design of curriculum (Years 7-12) that meets the needs of our students and NESA, monitoring achievement of students and effectiveness of teachers, dealing with all operational, budgeting and record keeping requirements and ensuring fair and effective assessment procedures.</p><p>•    Provide active leadership for all those involved in teaching or supporting the CAPA Faculty. This will include mentoring, collaborating and the sharing of information so that staff motivation is at an optimum level to encourage continuous improvement in the quality of learning and teaching.</p><p>•    Create effective teams by inspiring and motivating students and staff in the Extra Curricular Performance space. Be a positive role model for other staff and students by taking responsibility for the continuous improvement of the team within the context of the College.</p><p>•    Provide active leadership in contemporary learning practices that enhance student achievement and performance across all CAPA courses. Capacity to lead the ongoing development of differentiated pedagogy, authentic learning and assessment which is informed by evidenced-based approaches and the skilled use of data.</p><p>•    Qualification in Education and registration with the NSW Institute of Teachers</p><p> </p><p>The successful applicant will have an outstanding record teaching HSC Music, with experience leading and overseeing music programs and extra curricular performance. More specifically, the successful candidate will have the ability to:</p><ul><li>Demonstrate outstanding musicianship, including knowledge of performance practice, music repertoire and styles.</li><li>Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with staff, students, parents, and existing partnerships with professional networks.</li><li>Oversee the coordination of Extra Curricular Performance in Primary and Secondary including annual College events such as musicals, recitals, Christmas carols.</li><li>Model, promote and represent the College’s Vision, Mission and Values.</li><li>Contribute to an innovative educational direction that exists within the College</li><li>Differentiate in the classroom to promote growth for each individual student</li><li>Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum and assessment</li><li>Implement digital literacy with regard to application of pedagogy</li><li>Demonstrate exemplary organisational and communication skills</li><li>Drive academic improvement and results in all areas leading up to the HSC</li><li>Present appropriate tertiary qualifications, including teaching qualifications</li></ul><p>NESA accreditation and a current WWCC approval number is required.</p><p>Applicants must be committed Christians with an active involvement in a local church.</p><p><i>The College may commence interviews and appoint the position prior to the application due date.</i></p>
