The College is seeking to appoint an outstanding and experienced Leader of Wellbeing for this prominent position on the College Leadership Team. <br>This position attracts a 3 point remuneration allocation and a substantial time allocation. This is an ongoing full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025.<br><br><strong>About The Role</strong><br><br>The Leader of Wellbeing is a delegated responsibility by the Principal and works in partnership with the College Deans and Leadership Team to provide leadership in all aspects of student wellbeing across Years K-12. They will be responsible for the review, development, implementation and oversight of exceptional and thorough wellbeing programs, structures, policies and procedures. <br><br>The position provides an opportunity to continue to develop and lead an effective and innovative approach to wellbeing that is responsive to the needs of the St Mary's Cathedral College community, with the scope for the position to evolve over time.<br><br>The role leads the Instructional Leaders of Wellbeing and works with the College Counsellor to coordinate the Wellbeing and Character Education program (Phronesis). The Leader of Wellbeing is responsible for working with teachers in the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative and effective Character Education and Wellbeing programs. <br><br>The Leader of Wellbeing is responsible for developing and implementing best known contemporary practices in pastoral care, management of behavioural development and welfare to enhance the overall wellbeing of students. The Leader of Wellbeing works with the Deans, Instructional Leaders of Learning and Wellbeing in the transition of students into the College, as well as the transition of students across the Junior (K-4), Middle (5-8) and Senior School (9-12).<br><br><br><strong>Key areas of responsibility include:</strong></p><ul><li>student wellbeing</li><li>pastoral care</li><li>student transition</li><li>student behaviour management</li><li>community engagement</li><li>staff wellbeing.</li></ul><p><strong>Key Selection criteria:</strong><br><br>The successful applicant will be a highly effective leader who will:</p><ul><li>support the mission and ethos of the Catholic School</li><li>be passionate about the education of young people and the ability to motivate and inspire students</li><li>apply and model excellent teaching and learning skills employing a broad range of learning strategies and learning technologies</li><li>employ a data-informed approach to setting challenging learning objectives and providing constructive feedback</li><li>be a leader of staff and student wellbeing who has the ability to further develop a commitment to a culture of positive learning in a safe and supportive environment</li><li>be an outstanding educational leader with a demonstrated ability to develop engaging programs of pastoral care to meet the wellbeing needs of students</li><li>have highly developed skills in strategic change management, organisational, planning and decision-making skills</li><li>collaborate with teachers and staff to build teacher and leader capacity</li><li>an active listener with excellent presentation, communication, verbal and written skills</li><li>highly skilled in interpersonal relationships with students, staff, parents and external agencies</li><li>have middle leadership experience as a Year Coordinator, Instructional Leader of Wellbeing, or Pastoral Care Coordinator.</li></ul><p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p><ul><li>Masters in Education/Educational Leadership or similar</li><li>5 years minimum teaching experience.</li></ul><p><strong>Why Work for Sydney Catholic Schools</strong><br><br>In joining<a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/about-us"> Sydney Catholic Schools</a> (SCS), you will be part of the largest Catholic education community in NSW, with a unified vision and shared resources, encompassing over 145 schools and over 74,000 students.
