The College is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced teacher for the position of Instructional Leader Wellbeing. <br /> <br />This leadership role attracts a 2 point remuneration and time allocation. This is a full time on-going position commencing in Term 1, 2025.<br /> <br /><strong>About the role</strong><br /><br />The Instructional Leader forms part of the middle leadership team. The position is co-responsible with the Pastor, Principal and other Catholic lay leaders for the evangelising and catechising mission of the Church within an educational context. Reporting to the Principal or Delegate, the Instructional Leader plays a vital role in ensuring that the SCS values of empathy, excellence, truth, curiosity and collaboration are drivers for establishing a thriving Catholic community.<br /><br />The Instructional Leader is responsible for leading schoolwide excellence in pedagogical, curriculum and assessment practices and supporting the implementation of new pedagogies for learning in their key learning area(s). The Instructional Leader is an exemplary practitioner who builds the capacity of teachers to deliver excellent student outcomes.<br /> <br /><strong>Major Accountabilities</strong><br /><br />The Instructional Leader is required to perform tasks that include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>promoting and implementing Sydney Catholic Schools' mission and vision</li> <li>to know and love Christ through learning, and thriving Catholic communities through excellent teaching and learning</li> <li>supporting the leadership of a school-wide culture of excellence, informed decision-making, and collaborative practice</li> <li>working with the leadership team and other stakeholders in implementing a range of improvement strategies to ensure effective strategic change</li> <li>actively promoting the integration of Catholic values and Catholic Social Teaching across the curriculum</li> <li>ensuring consistency of teaching practice and shared teacher judgement drives assessment</li> <li>demonstrating exemplary classroom teaching practice in their curriculum speciality</li> <li>cultivating a contemporary and effective learning culture</li> <li>developing and implementing effective and evidence-based professional learning to build the capacity of teachers</li> <li>ensuring evaluation of teaching and teachers' goal setting related to performance and monitoring performance goal achievement</li> <li>leading and collaborating within a culture of ongoing growth and improvement</li> <li>demonstrating organisational, management and leadership skills</li> <li>analysing data and trends within the school to identify areas for growth</li> <li>actively promoting the relationship between student wellbeing and learning growth</li> <li>contributing to a 'network approach' that promotes the reciprocal benefits of the school system.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Duties</strong><br /> <br />In this position, your primary duties will include:</p> <ul> <li>assisting with implementing the SCS whole of system student wellbeing programs identified by the Student Wellbeing and Learning Team</li> <li>developing, implementing, measuring and evaluating robust, evidence-based programs and practices to support students' social and emotional wellbeing and holistic character development</li> <li>facilitating the development of a safe, engaging, productive and inclusive learning culture and practices across the designated cohorts to promote positive behaviour management and self-efficacy with a focus on the College's Phronesis Program</li> <li>leading the staff allocated to the cohort to promote cohesive student wellbeing and learning approaches across the college, using systematic processes to monitor and implement effective responses to students' wellbeing needs</li> <li>developing and leading inclusive opportunities for students in the cohort to create a strong sense of belonging and positive relationships within the college grounded in the College's values, for example, but not limited to, camps, wellbeing initiatives etc</li> <li>working in conjunction with the Instructional Leader: Diverse Learning (K-12) and relevant staff to coordinate differentiated support for students as well as remain informed about the legal requirements of the Disability Standards Act for Education.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Work for Sydney Catholic Schools</strong><br /> <br />In joining<a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/about-us"> Sydney Catholic Schools</a> (SCS), you will be part of the largest Catholic education community in NSW, with a unified vision and shared resources, encompassing over 145 schools and over 74,000 students.
