They must also have a comprehensive knowledge of the Primary school setting and its requirements.</p> <p><strong>KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide teaching and learning experiences for students which are based on a sound understanding of pedagogy.&nbsp;</li> <li>Differentiate the curriculum for individual needs.</li> <li>Utilise a variety of technologies to underpin sound pedagogical practices.</li> <li>Utilise authentic assessment.</li> <li>Embed sound learning theory.</li> <li>Meet the aims, objectives and outcomes of the curriculum.</li> <li>Develop and maintain collegial relationships within the school.&nbsp;</li> <li>Work collaboratively with the parents and mentors to ensure the holistic development of each child.&nbsp;</li> <li>Set and evaluate assessments, drive curriculum development in collaboration with staff.</li> <li>Keep accurate records and registers of the teaching and learning process, including Unit plans and programs, student assessment records, registers of student attendance.</li> <li>Contribute to co-curricular activities such as lunchtime Clubs.&nbsp;</li> <li>Care for the classroom in which you teach and ensure that the classroom is neat, well-ordered, attractively decorated and conducive to learning.&nbsp;</li> <li>Be involved in excursions, camps and trips (some of which may be conducted outside of school hours).&nbsp;</li> <li>Attend staff development days and other professional development sessions that may take place after school throughout the term.&nbsp;</li> <li>Attend Key Parent Functions and any other major school functions throughout the year.&nbsp;</li> <li>Be involved and fully participate in the schools pastoral care program</li> </ul>
