<p><strong>St Mary's Primary School, Grafton</strong></p><p>St Mary's Primary School, Grafton is located in the Clarence Valley, on the north coast of NSW. The school offers a quality education for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.</p><p>______________________________________________________________________________</p><p>Student Wellbeing Officer</p><p><i>Part time temporary position until 26 January 2028</i></p><p>This position is offered over a four-year contract and is dependent upon NSWP funding.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p><p>5 hours per week</p><p>________________________________________________________________________________</p><p><i><strong>The role of the Student Wellbeing Officer is to support the emotional well-being of students. The</strong></i><a href="https://csolismore.schoolzineplus.com/_file/media/6362/nswp_guidelines_2024_2027.pdf"><i><strong>&nbsp;National School Wellbeing Program</strong></i></a><i><strong>&nbsp;supports schools to provide a school-based role that is recognised as part of the whole school approach to pastoral car</strong></i><strong>e.</strong></p><p><strong>Applicants must:</strong></p><ul><li>hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check</li><li>have compliance&nbsp;with the&nbsp;<a href="https://csolismore.schoolzineplus.com/_file/media/2304/accreditation_to_work_teach_lead.pdf">Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead</a>&nbsp;Policy upon appointment.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li><p>hold a minimum&nbsp;<strong>qualification or qualifications,</strong>&nbsp;equivalent to or higher than, a Certificate IV as determined by the States, and this qualification or qualifications must include competencies in both:&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; • mental health and making appropriate referrals; and&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; • providing pastoral care, and/or working with youth</p></li><li>Persons holding a formal qualification (Certificate IV or above) in a related field (eg, Theology/ Nursing/Policing, etc) which includes components dealing with mental health and client referrals are deemed to meet the minimum qualifications.<ul><li>Teachers, social workers, counsellors or psychologists in training are also deemed to meet the minimum qualifications.</li><li>Applicants with a teaching degree meet the qualifications but will not be remunerated as a teacher.&nbsp;</li></ul></li><li>Applicants are required to complete the professional learning package in responding to and preventing cyberbullying delivered by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner within three months of commencing NSWP services and refresh this professional learning at least once every two and a half years.</li></ul><p><strong>Criteria:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in providing support to children and/or young people to address social and emotional needs</li><li>Ability to support schools and teachers in identifying and develop educational, social and emotional programs to support children and young people who are vulnerable or at risk</li><li>Ability to liaise with community service organisations</li><li>Experience in mentoring children and/or young people</li><li>Well-developed organisational and time management skills with the capacity to work effectively both independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary pastoral care team</li><li>Have a demonstrated commitment to personal faith practice</li></ul><p>Your application should address the above criteria including the nomination of two (2) referees including a Parish Priest, Priest or Minister.</p><p><strong>Applications close:&nbsp;3.00 pm Monday 16th September, 2024.</strong></p><p><br><a href="https://csolismore.schoolzineplus.com/_file/media/5759/recruitment_brochure_clarence_generic.pdf">Clarence&nbsp;Region</a><br><br>&nbsp;</p><p><i>Diocese of Lismore</i> C<i>atholic Schools Limited is committed to creating Child Safe Schools.</i></p><p><i>Child protection legislation requires preferred applicants to be subject to employment screening.</i><br>&nbsp;</p><p><i>An Equal Opportunity Employer.</i></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><br><br>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;<a href="https://careers.pageuppeople.com/1001/cw/en/PositionDescriptionDocument/496951/student-wellbeing-officer-st-marys-primary-school-grafton">Applicant Information Pack</a></p>
