The Chaplain develops supportive relationships with students, addressing their emotional, behavioural, social, and spiritual needs. The role involves assisting with issues like bullying, family breakdown, and critical incidents, facilitating communication between the school and home, supporting staff, and advising parents in need of assistance with matters such as sickness, grief, and abuse.
<p><strong>The position </strong></p><p>We invite applications to join the Sunrise Christian School Fullarton community. Starting in Term 4 of the school year 2024, the position offers 14 hours per week (preferably Tuesday and Wednesday, but negotiable) over 40 weeks of the year (school term weeks only). At our Fullarton school, you will have the opportunity to use your God-given gifts and talents to contribute to our warm and welcoming community. </p><p><strong>To be successful </strong></p><p>We are looking for committed Christians who are active in church fellowship to join our vibrant Christian community. It is expected that applicants will: </p><ul><li>Have a minimum qualification or qualification equivalent to or higher than a Cert IV, which must include competencies in: <ul><li>Mental health and making appropriate referrals, and </li><li>Providing pastoral care, and/ or working with youth. </li></ul></li><li>Be committed to Christ and be able to demonstrate active church involvement </li><li>Provide advice and support to students and parents as needed </li><li>Assist with issues within the school network in regard to bullying, family breakdown, behavioural matters, illness etc. </li><li>Assist students and families with emotional, behavioural, social and spiritual needs as required </li><li>Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Demonstrate an excellent professional and interpersonal relationship with students and families </li><li>Possess a good level of computer and administration skills </li><li>Provide a satisfactory Working with Children Check (WWCC) and complete Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse & Neglect in Education & care training or be willing to obtain. </li></ul><p><strong>About Sunrise Christian School </strong></p><p>Sunrise Christian School educates the hearts and minds of children to provide wisdom and an understanding of God.
