Westbourne College Sydney students will graduate to the very best universities in Australia, the UK and around the world.</p><p>Our team is Sydney are supported by our Westbourne International leadership team and join staff from our fellow schools in Cardiff and Singapore. All our colleges are co-ed, selective and deliver the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.</p><p> </p><p><strong>About the role</strong></p><ul><li>The IBDP Coordinator role is a key leadership role, with responsibilities for pedagogical leadership, programme administration and communication of the IB Mission. </li><li>The successful applicant will also function as the Deputy Principal and be responsible for day to day operations of the College. </li><li>The Coordinator needs to have good knowledge of the IB regulations and procedures and be able to teach one of the following IB courses: English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Theory of Knowledge or Business Management. </li></ul><p><strong>Key responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Lead the collaborative development of IBDP curriculum and assessment for IB subjects with academic staff.</li><li>Lead the collaborative development of the IBDP Core (CAS, TOK, EE)</li><li>Work closely with students and families on student progress.</li><li>Manage the process for monitoring IBDP student performance data </li><li>Creation, review and maintenance of the IB Assessment and Academic Honesty Policy consistent with the requirements of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) Diploma Programme.</li><li>Coordinate the delivery of NESA curriculum for Stage 5.</li><li>Manage the College calendar, online and text book resourcing, reports, student attendance, excursions, examinations and NCCD.  </li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Essential Skills required</strong></p><ul><li>Tertiary qualifications with post graduate qualifications desirable</li><li>Registered teacher with NESA or satisfy the necessary criteria to gain registration as a priority</li><li>Minimum of five to ten years teaching experience to diverse student groups in Australia and internationally</li><li>Previous experience as an IBDP teacher and experience as an IBDP Coordinator highly preferred</li><li>Detailed knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Standards and Practices.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>About you</strong></p><p>You will demonstrate the following <strong>essential</strong> attributes and capabilities:</p><ul><li>Be a confident and highly effective classroom teacher with recent experience in IB </li><li>Be an effective team contributor and demonstrate exceptional collaboration and communication skills. </li><li>Have extensive experience in developing programs and delivering syllabus requirements </li><li>Demonstrate commitment to the success of program delivery</li><li>Able to adapt to new technology to enhance learning</li><li>Be a self-aware professional, interested in ongoing professional development </li><li>Be committed to supporting student wellbeing</li><li>Demonstrate commitment to maintaining a positive college culture</li></ul><p>Successful candidates must comply with the NSW Teacher Accreditation Act, have a current accreditation with NESA and provide a Working with Children Check.</p><p>Applicants are required to submit a curriculum vitae and letter addressing the criteria outlined by Friday 13th September, 2024.
