The ability to teach Studies of Religion is required</li> <li>utilise formative and summative assessments to drive student progress</li> <li>employ a data-informed approach to setting challenging learning objectives and providing constructive feedback</li> <li>support the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students</li> <li>demonstrate excellent classroom management skills focused on student well-being</li> <li>integrate technology to enhance contemporary learning experiences.</li> </ul> <p>The position of Youth Ministry Coordinator has been established to help take forward the Catholic life of the school by further strengthening the partnership between the school and local parishes and for engaging young people into responsible participation in life, mission, work and the Catholic faith community through a range of initiatives and activities. The Youth Ministry Coordinator gives leadership to the promotion of and preparation of events such as World Youth Day, the Australian Catholic Youth Festival, Ignite Conference and SCS Evangelisation Days.<br /> <br />The Youth Ministry Coordinator will form an important role within the Religious Education team as an effective teacher and contributor to the Evangelisation programs and promoting the Religious Dimension of the school. The Youth Ministry Coordinator will be responsible for organising initiatives for the ongoing faith formation of students by facilitating and leading a range of communal prayer experiences and opportunities, which also contribute to the liturgical and sacramental life of the school.<br /><br />To excel in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:</p> <ul> <li>strong and active commitment to the practice of the Catholic Faith, with a well-developed understanding of the evangelising and catechising mission of the Catholic Church</li> <li>experience and skills in engaging young people into the diverse works of the Catholic Church</li> <li>an understanding of the emerging approaches to youth ministry and evangelisation</li> <li>the ability to liaise with the Religious Education Coordinator, staff and students to facilitate the integration of World Youth Day and other Archdiocesan and Regional Youth Ministry events and programs into the life of the school</li> <li>highly developed interpersonal and communication skills</li> <li>capacity to foster and strengthen relationships between the school and parish communities</li> <li>excellent time management, organisational and administrative skills</li> <li>capacity to contribute to a school-wide vision for high-quality learning and teaching in Religious Education by promoting youth ministry resources that promote the faith development of students within a curriculum context</li> <li>evidence of modelled self-reflection and self-assessment of practice, actively seeking feedback and demonstrating responsibility for the ongoing development of self as a leader and teacher in a Catholic school</li> <li>a desire to work with the leadership team in establishing a strategic approach to youth ministry in the local school context</li> <li>ability to facilitate a process to ensure that the voice of students is sought and heard concerning their engagement in the life of the Church.</li> </ul> <p>You will have attained:</p> <ul> <li>a tertiary qualification in Education</li> <li>eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)</li> <li>Religious Education qualifications as per<a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/policies/accreditation-policy-to-work-teach-and-lead-in-sydney-catholic-schools"> Accreditation Policy to Work, Teach, and Lead</a></li> <li>post graduate units of study in leadership (advantageous).</li> </ul> <p>Desirable criteria:</p> <ul> <li>has completed, or has evidence of, study toward a Graduate Diploma or Master of Religious Education or Theology</li> <li>experienced in teaching junior Stage 4 and 5 Religious Education and either Studies in Catholic Thought or Studies of Religion.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Work for Sydney Catholic Schools</strong><br /> <br />In joining<a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/about-us"> Sydney Catholic Schools</a> (SCS), you will be part of the largest Catholic education community in NSW, with a unified vision and shared resources, encompassing over 145 schools and over 74,000 students.
